So inconspicuous, I've driven past the building a dozen times in the past 4 months without even noticing that the tired old building, under constant construction had transformed itself.
A part of the large Somer's Pubs chain, they took a well-worn building and turned it into a fairly good representation of an olde Irish Pub.
It does fit into Cohasset's charming village atmosphere.
Step past ye olde-looking Mr. Dooley's sign and into a cozy, but well laid out seating arrangement. Authentic-looking signs and bric-a-brac from the olde country really do have a little of that Irish charm.
A top the L bar are 11 taps. Bass, Smithwick's, Harp were expected. Long Trail, Wachusett and Shipyard seasonals, Radeberger, Red Hook, Widmer Drifter and Chimay Red were pleasant surprises. The bar is very well stocked with premium (and not so premium) liquors. The usual suspect beers in bottles are behind the bar, where they belong.
We plan to go back soon and sample the food (standard pub grub), which folks seemed to be enjoying.
It's certainly worth stopping in for a pint or two when you're in the area.
