A solid brown. Lots of flavor, definitely not a one-dimensional beer. Gets even better as it warms up. Could drink this one all day.

The gold standard of London-style brown ales!!! A perfect brown, maybe just a hair darker than a nut brown with a nice light tan head that laces nicely. The malt and hops both come through nicely in the smell with undertones of hay and apples. The taste is just perfectly balanced where neither the malt sweetness or hops bitterness overwhelming. I just live this beer.

Delicious Brown. Not too malty, not an aggressive tasting beer. This is a great beer if you like to just sit at a tavern and enjoy a good tasting beverage. it is almost as good from the growler as the tap, drink it that night. Would recommend to anyone who walks in & doesn't want an IPA.

A: Dark brown, +1 finger head of off white foam. Good head retention and lacing.

S: Chocolate and caramel malt, sweet but also earthy. Toffee and hints of mild bitterness.

T: Toffee, milk chocolate, earthy, bitterness in the finish.

B: Medium body and carbonation.

O: Well crafted English style Brown Ale.

Looks the part of a light bodied brown ale, big bubbled off-white head that dissipated a bit too quickly. Has small particles floating around. Smells complex, nutty and of toffee/caramel. Tastes strong of a wide range of anything you'd think possible in a brown ale. A lot of caramel and a hint of oak taste. Not much in the form of hops flavor, I'd probably say they are Earthy and Woody. Nice mouth-feel, not too thick like many brown ales. Overall Tastes pretty good, gets better as you drink down the glass.

As the hunt for experimentation, uniqueness and intrigue often leads brewers astray, its easy to forget classic styles. But in the hands of Saw Works, the brown ale is alive and well.

Dark brown and firmly headed with a creamy, mid-statured crown, the lightly hazed beer casts a host of robust aromatics. Chocolate, nuttiness, coffee and caramel give the scent a rich and savory perfume. Its taste is sweet with bold caramel, light toffee, toast, chocolate milk, roasted peanut and fresh columbian coffee.

Across the palate, the robust sweet and toasted character begins to favor a drier, drinkable path as the moderate carbonation carries away a bulk of sweetness and allows the mild char of toast, peanut skin, coffee ground and cocoa to become earthy and mildly spicy. As estery apple and slight butterscotch linger onward, the final taste is one of candied apple.

Medium-full and creamy, the lush and velvety upstart is met with a light thinness that precedes any dryness and exposes a dull albeit brief cola-like taste before the broad and woodsy bitterness of hops close the session with earth, herb and pepper.

On tap at the Alamo Steakhouse in Gatlinburg served in a nonic pint glass.

Look- A cola brown color with a small amount of light tan foam.

Smell- A nutty/sweet mix of chocolate cake batter, faint coffee, cashews.

Taste- Nutty up front with walnuts and cashews. A malted milk flavor follows along with slight coffee and floral notes.

Feel- Light, creamy smooth and easy drinking.

Overall- Nothing special but worth a try if you're in the area. The creamy malted milk nutty taste paired perfectly with the filet mignon.
