On tap at Holiday Inn Worlds Fair.

Pours clear chestnut brown with a tight one finger head. Leaves a bit of sticky lacing, but not very active carbonation.

Aroma of faint cocoa and toasted malt. A bit of herbal, grassy hops.

Taste of toast, walnuts, hint of toffee. Very little residual sweetness. A dull, paper-like finish doesn't help doesn't boost the flavor at all. Pretty much one note.

Mouthfeel drags this one down. Thin, dull, and lacking carbonation (draft system may be to blame here). Finishes dry, with a decent hop bitterness for the style.

A decent local beer when macros are your only other choice. Don't know if keg has been sitting for awhile, which may have contributed to the oxidation notes.

Decent beer..

Tea color with 1 finger frothy white head ,some lacing..

Smell is not so good , almost a hint of macro lager sour type smell and some burnt sugar/ Carmel..

Taste is smoother than the smell lets on , little bit of bitterness up front and kinda finishes with a hint of chocolate..

Feel is thin and watery.

Overall its a drinkable beer but I'm probably not buying it again ever..

Saw Works Brown on tap at the Tupelo Honey Cafe (Greenville, SC).
5.7% ABV

Great looking, with a deep, dark brown body and a thick, durable head. Excellent clarity and lacing.

Good aroma and flavor, with neither noteworthy flaws nor anything exceptional.
Likewise for the medium-light body.

Poured from can into pint glass. It pours a cola color with a thin, ecru-colored head and lacing. It smells of bready malt, nuts, and a whiff of chocolate. Unfortunately, all of the aromas were subdued. The taste largely followed the nose with nuts and bready malt. The chocolate was fairly noticeable. It finished with a rather unpleasant sourness. This ale is medium-bodied, lightly carbonated, and with an ABV of 5.8% it is very easy to drink. In fairness, there was no date on the can and it may have been beyond its proper drinking life but it is not a distinguished Brown Ale.
