Love this Austin beer. Makes me proud to be from the great state of Texas. It looks a little golden, like it might taste like bread, but the smell is floral and just subtle enough to leave you wanting more, and the taste is way heavier and hoppier than you'd anticipate from the color. Awesome beer with a great danky aftertaste. Texas Pride!

Great drinkability for an IPA with plenty of hoppy goodness.

I was trying to order an Uncle Billy's Green Room but was served this instead. I noticed it as I was finishing the pour. No worries, it's another Austin beer I have been wanting to try. I didn't know there were batch variations to look for on the can so I didn't. Reasonably clear golden amber with a fairly dense head. Nice aroma of grapefruit and lemon. Slightly bready malt notes poking through. Slides easily over the tongue, not particularly bitter but decent balance. Slightly piney as it warms in the glass. Wish I knew what batch it was. Without that info, this review is probably pretty useless. I can tell you that I liked this one quite a bit, though. I had it after a Dankosaurus and I think I would give a slight nod to the Greenhouse. They were both $2.00 cans at the Shack on Telge in Houston, so...hard to argue about value for sure!

Poured from the can into my riegel IPA glass.
January release. Thanks to my buddy Steven Z. for the hook-up!!!

A - Pours a hazy gold, with tinges of orange. a dense 3-finger head forms,
hanging around for a good while, and leaving excellent lacing. A good bit of love obviously went into this beer.

S - Dank pine and citrus aromas abound, showing notes of mango (God bless that Mosaic hop!), stone-fruit, and grapefruit pith. A bit of lemon hangs out as well, with basil, and rosemary in the background. I could smell this beer all day.

T - Follows the nose. Meyer lemon, mango, vegetal bell pepper, and apricot, with a bit of underlying booziness that hugs the palate. Damn, I need a clone recipe for this bad-boy. I LOVE Mosaic hops, and this beer just gives me another reason to do so. The herbal notes from the nose carry over to the palate, but aren't cloying in any way, and invite you to sip... and sip... and sip... until your glass is empty, and you're sad that your beer is gone. *Sighs*

M - Light Carbonation for an IPA, which does this beer a good bit of justice, by not forcing the hop resins onto your tongue. A little bit creamy, but also slick and slightly oily. Once again, I could drink this beer all day. That being said, if I did, I wouldn't accomplish anything, because after one pint, I'm feeling a bit "right"...

o - H&G outdid themselves with this one. I really wish it was more available in DFW, but one can wish in one hand, and so on and so forth. All across the board, this beer is what every other Mosaic-based IPA wishes that it was. Take a backseat, Community and Victory. Hops & Grain kicked your collective asses with this release!!! If you have a chance to get your hands on even a single pint of this beer, DO EEET! Your tongue, liver, and sanity will thank you in every way possible. (And so will I, and the nice folks at H&G, who deserve a cookie and a high-five for crafting this delicious beer.)

Batch #17 can poured into an oversized snifter.

Frothy pale white head over a cloudy, unfiltered-looking orange and amber body with a nice glow to it. 4.5

Delicious-smelling nose, melon-y, floral and light citrus. 4.5

Damn son. Bubblegum baby. Kinda reminds me of Big League Chew. Big fruit flavor like honeydew before a spicier, pinier hop flavor on the finish. 4.5

Juicy with mellow sweetness and a smooth creamy feel. There's a strong lingering bitterness that is hardly apparent until I've made my way through 3/4 of the can, so it appears to have slowly accumulated. 4.25

What a great brew. I love the juiciness and the honeydew flavor. I'm becoming a sucker for the melon fruit flavors in IPAs, they're just tasty as hell.
