On-draught @ Wright Bros. Brew & Brew. $6 per pint.

Pours clear and filtered, with a vibrant yellow-gold colour. Off-white head lingers for a good 4-5 minutes.

Aroma brings floral notes alongside grass and fruit (mainly citrus with a tropical bend, tending towards mango and maybe even tangerine). Not overly tropical like many pale ales out there.

Very balanced in terms of hop bitterness, with pale malt sweetness keeping it even-keeled. Tends towards the creamy side towards the third act, which is a bit arresting. Hop flavour dwindles towards the late second act, but it's floral, grassy, and fruity up to that point. Hop pungency is average for the style. Depth of flavour could be better. The hop profile itself is nice but not unique or special. I figure what with its "Dispensary" epithet, Hops and Grain was after what the kids these days like to call a "dank" hop profile; I wouldn't contend that this hop profile satisfies that aim, but it's not a bad brew by any stretch.

Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, well-carbonated, refreshing. Not oily, gushed, hot, pulpy, astringent, harsh, rough or scratchy.

It's a drinkable pale ale with no unique or special attributes. I'd sooner reach for a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - which is much less expensive anyway - but this isn't a bad brew and I do think Hops and Grain has developed as a brewery in the two years since I've tried any of their offerings.

Hops and grain does it again, This beer is phenomenal. Amazing hop flavor with a good solid bittering hops overall. Amazing aroma. Could drink this for days. Not really a pale ale, but whatever
