(from notes)

Listing noted that this is a blended ale collaboration with Pinthouse Pizza brewpub. 16 oz. pour, stemless tulip.

Look- ruby amber, half-finger of pure white loose head. Ok retention, very nice lacing.

Smell- Sweet, fruity, actually very strawberry-y. Toasty, hazelnut undercurrent, vinous. As it warms takes on a more tart raspberry feel.

Taste- Toasted biscuit, actual strawberry, fig, powdery, ends nutty, red tea, star anise, pink lemonade, white grape, light ovaltine aftertaste.

Mouthfeel- Juicy, medium body. Smooth, soft carbonation. Mild tartness, dry, slightly astringent finish.

Overall- The best strawberry brew I've ever had, hands-down. Not spectacular, but an impressive accomplishment nonetheless; even Randy Mosher has noted that good strawberry beer is nigh impossible to pull off. Unique, more complex than anticipated. I'll likely have another. Leaps and bounds beyond your typical fruit beer.
