Very Good
Pour Judgement IPAPour Judgement IPA
Notes: In 2013, we teamed up with our friends at Pour Judgement Bar and Grill in Newport, RI to brew their house IPA with the finest German malt and Eureka! hops. This beer gained so much devotion that we now offer PJ IPA “to go”. If you’re an IPA fan, go use some good judgment and grab a Pour Judgement! Cheers!

Drank from can at home on day of purchase. I'm a huge fan of the restaurant this is named after, but maybe not as much this beer. It has very little aroma, but a big hop flavor on first sip. The bitterness seeps in a touch but is muted by the malt and lack of carbonation that comes next. There is a strong aftertaste of sweetness and malt that combined with its flat profile, makes it feel thick on the tongue. It is fairly easy to drink, but not in the sense that I'd put a few down in one sitting. I guess its missing that refreshing quality I look for in "easy to drink" beers that make me crave opening one after another.

Dark yellow in color with an orangish hue and a murky, unfiltered appearance. Poured with a short, creamy, white foam with medium low retention. Medium light herbal and pine aromas with an underlying dankness and maltiness. Medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Fleeting creamy feel up front and light warmth toward the end. Medium malty flavor up front followed by herbal hop flavors that transition to pine. Medium hop bitterness through the middle followed by mellow dank hoppiness to the end. Finished semi dryly with light pine bitterness and bready malt flavors. Drank more like a pale ale than a IPA. Malt and hop characters were pretty evenly balanced. Aromas were a bit subdued and the feel was a bit thin for 6%. Solid malt flavors with tasty hop character. The lighy dankness makes this work. Tasty and easy drinking.

Poured pretty clear with a short foamy head
Strong dank almost cat ate a pine tree piss smell, I mean that in a good way.
Clean crisp mouth feel
Slight sticky prickly finish,
a bit of a bite.
Really nicely balanced, easy drinking and leaves you wanting more.

New to this beer and an instant hit for me. Lighter in color from what you find in an IPA. Was expecting bitter and hoppy but not at all. Surprisingly this felt crisp and smooth. Very little aftertaste. The smell is very faint. I think I would introduce this beer to a friend who is curious to try an IPA. Overall I can drink this all night. Already had two from the can and this may be one of my personal top 10 IPA's.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, some pine. Taste is pine, malts, some orange peels, mild bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an easy drinking and decent beer, but not as hop forward as I expected.

12 oz can was poured into a mug.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a hazy pale yellow color with some clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Lemon, herbal, pale malts, wheaty, bready.

Taste: Lemony, herbal, toasted, biscuity, and pale malts. Balanced, smooth, a little chewy, and light tingly bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, tasty, light tingly bitterness, a little chewy, bready, and delicious.

Overall: Not as good as Captains Daughter, but still a good beer. Good enough to enjoy the whole 6 pack. I'll revisit this again for sure.

Had out of a can into a snifter glass today. Pours a little lighter amber, mostly gold with hints of orange. Opaque with a decent head. Surprisingly light aroma to this, some juicy hops and sweetness swirling around. Great flavor though, this is basically mini Captain's Daughter. Juicy hop notes abound with a biscuit malt note to carry a little sweetness. Notes of pineapple and the finish is bitter but not too much. Light body and easy to crush, enjoy it!

More NE-style IPA action in the form of a hazy, pale, unfiltered ale; citrusy and mildly fruity; light feeling with moderate bitterness and hoppage; drinkable, smooth, and refreshing. Nice finish with a pleasant aftertaste.
