Have to admit, I am a Captains Daughter fanatic, so I guess it wasnt really fair to rate this, because I keep thinking of the Captain!
The addition of Pilsner malt made this a bit more interesting, sort of funky. It didnt have that real typical grapefruit , pine tar resion aroma and taste, it was a bit of a different type of bitterness and dryness

Beautiful brew: like a lemon meringue pie, where the lemon is nearly transparent and the meringue lasts for days.

Huge fresh hoppy aroma: tons of green, dank leaf.

Flavor follows. This is a delectable hop brew, with an emphasis on dank hop oils. Quite drinkable and enjoyable. Lively feel.

This was a shockingly good beer from the first sip.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) can into a conical pint glass; production date 12/05/17.
A: Pours a hazy, cloudy light straw color with a three quarter inch head, limited retention, but decent, if soapy, lacing.
S: Aromas of grapefruit, lime, grains, wet hay, and pine.
T: Palate largely follows the nose. Bitterness stronger than typical lagers and creates a nice, crisp finish.
M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Crisp and clean.
O: I enjoyed the relative lightness of the style. Well made and very drinkable. Definitely worth a try.

Can to lager glass, the appearance was a golden crisp color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Trickling lace. The aroma had some sweet corn blending with some grassy and piney hops. Little bit of hop spice at the very end flowing over some bready malts. The flavor was moderately sweet with the hop spice coming in and allowing some bitterness riding along to flow on into the aftertaste and finish. The palate was between light and medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, pretty good India pale lager. I’d have again.

On draft..
Nice yellow in color, slight haze. Thin white head. The aroma caught my nose once it was placed in front of me. Floral, hoppy and hints of fruit. Taste was mildly sweet and hoppy and hints of citrus, finishes with a hint of bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel and refreshing. I enjoy this more than the Captains Daughter.

Don't pass this one up, it is worth it.

wow. Very interesting beer. Hops lay the plot. Excellent grapey and fruity hop profile with bright tropical finish . Body spot on. No lingering parching hop bitterness. Long fresh finish. Dry hopping at its best. Outstanding beer. Will seek it out.

From the 12 fl. oz. can dated 12/20/17. Sampled on September 14, 2018.

The pour is a cloudy looking straw yellow with a long lasting white foamy head.

It is an old can so the malt bomb characters are the first impression in the aroma. A kind of herbal note perhaps and stale bready malts.

The body is about medium.

The taste is at first sweet but the hops have essentially faded. There is a firm bitterness at the end.
