12 oz can from the brewery
No born on date
Reviewed on 08.30.17

Hazy, light straw colored with ample effervescence. Thin white head that leaves a coating and lacing
Feint smells of citrus hops, could be stronger
Burst of flavor and carbonation on first sip, taste exceeds smell. Hop forward, quick bitter and then clean finish. Boost of booziness at the end too, which I like.
Great Lager carbonation level, sticky at first but fades to a relatively clean mouthfeel...this side of dry
Overall an excellent IPL. Great summer beer with the carbonation level balancing the ABV level

Smooth with crisp carbonation. Light fruitiness with hop bitterness throughout. Dry. Malty.

On draft..
Nice yellow in color, slight haze. Thin white head. The aroma caught my nose once it was placed in front of me. Floral, hoppy and hints of fruit. Taste was mildly sweet and hoppy and hints of citrus, finishes with a hint of bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel and refreshing. I enjoy this more than the Captains Daughter.

Don't pass this one up, it is worth it.

wow. Very interesting beer. Hops lay the plot. Excellent grapey and fruity hop profile with bright tropical finish . Body spot on. No lingering parching hop bitterness. Long fresh finish. Dry hopping at its best. Outstanding beer. Will seek it out.

On-tap 1/14/2016 at Doherty’s Ale House in Warwick, RI, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a medium off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains lager yeast, grassy hops, caramelized malts and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of citrus and caramel. Then a strong grassy hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and creates some balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while.

On tap at The American Craft Beer Fest Yesterday.
Bready grainy not hoppy enough and just plain blah.

12oz. can served in a shaker pint. Pours a translucent straw gold with a loose, quarter inch, bright white head that settles into a thin, consistent cap - some lacing, but no legs. Nose expresses grapefruit, pith and earthy notes. Taste consistent with nose but a bit danker. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a crisp, even carbonation and a light acidity. Overall, a lovely beer. Great flavor, body and mouthfeel. Wish I could get a keg of this for the house.

From the 12 fl. oz. can dated 12/20/17. Sampled on September 14, 2018.

The pour is a cloudy looking straw yellow with a long lasting white foamy head.

It is an old can so the malt bomb characters are the first impression in the aroma. A kind of herbal note perhaps and stale bready malts.

The body is about medium.

The taste is at first sweet but the hops have essentially faded. There is a firm bitterness at the end.

A- Tallboy into a tulip glass with a slightly hazy golden body and thick, creamy white head. The silky foam makes it up to an inch high with very good retention. Thin but wide and plentiful sheets of lace decorate the glass.

S- Floral, citrus and dank hop profile with plenty of aromatic strength. Oranges and grapefruits with their oily zest, dank weed, slight onion, tart tangerines, lime and a bit of a tropical mango vibe.

T- The floral character increases alongside a big oily citrus zest hoppiness. The dank weedy and onion flavor hits in the finish after a wave of sweet apricot, slight tropical mango, grapefruit, oranges and papaya. Definitely on the sweet side but no caramel or interference.

MF- Creamy and medium bodied with a somewhat low end carbonation that the sweetness helps out here. Silky smooth and a slight floral bitterness in the finish with shades of citrus oils.

Kind of on the sweet side but a nice balance of citrus, floral and sweeter more tropical fruits from the hops.

Have to admit, I am a Captains Daughter fanatic, so I guess it wasnt really fair to rate this, because I keep thinking of the Captain!
The addition of Pilsner malt made this a bit more interesting, sort of funky. It didnt have that real typical grapefruit , pine tar resion aroma and taste, it was a bit of a different type of bitterness and dryness
