A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high dark beige colored head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of bourbon and red wine are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of red wine along with notes of bourbon.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. There is some warming from the alcohol in the finish.
O: I found this stout to be interesting as it has aromas and flavors of both red wine and bourbon. It does a very good job at hiding the alcohol from the taste.

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into my snifter. The beer pours a deep chocolate brown color with a bit of garnet highlight when I hold the glass up to the light.
A thin densely packed beige head foams up on the pour and remains as a sturdy edge layer and large wispy island on the surface of the brew.
The aroma is some roasted malts and a bit of plum and raisin scents and a little bourbon. This also mixes with a little anice note, which I typically dont like as a flavor or scent, but it seems to work pretty well here. No real hint of the booze, at 8.6% this is on lower end for an Imp Stout, but still the booze is hidden.
THe first sip reveals an average body with very fine and tingly carbonation that rolls across my palate. Texture is pretty smooth and this beer drinks pretty easy.
Flavor actually has some differences from the nose. I get roasted malt, but also molasses here up front and generally is more sweet than I expected, with bourbon coming through midway. I have some lingering bourbon and a bit of the plum note from the nose, but again the booze is well hidden. No hops here and I find my glass empty fairly quickly. A nice fairly mellow Imp Stout. Worth trying.
