Our golden-colored cream ale, brewed in a similar manner to the crisp lagers of continental Europe, offers great balance between malty sweetness and noble hop bitterness. This gold-medal winning cream ale is the perfect session beer for any occasion.

Pours a clear gold. Taste slightly sweet with a malty/grainy taste.

It is a must have in a beach goes cooler.

I did not become much a beer enthusiast until I lived in New England. I came across the Flag Ship on my way to the Rhode island beaches. It is now a must have. Nice Summer flavor, with a nice golden sun glare. The taste is kept, while drinking out of the can as well.

L: transparent gold with a quarter inch head that remains
S: hay and orange
T: malt, orange, and dry. Somewhat "herbal"
F: good carbonation, smooth

I don't notice much hops flavor. Goes down well. Not very complex but this doesn't seem to be intended as such. Buy with confidence!

[Original rating 2014-08-01] Draft at Two Little Fish in Westerly, RI. Pours clear gold with a decent white head. Not much aroma. Taste was malty, a bit of earth and straw. Not bad for a hot summer day in RI. I’m not a fan of the cream ale style but this had decent taste, fine with a fried seafood plate. Beats a Gansett.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that quickly settled down, leaving some lacing on the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of corn and bready malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of corn adjuncts and bits of associated sweetness with hints of bready and pilsener malts. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied, smooth, and a little creamy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The smell and taste of this beer isn't anything special, but it has a nice amount of smoothness in the mouthfeel with some creaminess.

The appearance was a light yellow color with a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds and not leaving any head whatsoever. The smell had some sweet corn. The taste was basically the same. On the palate, it sat pretty light and sessionable. Overall, cream ale by style, what more was I expecting, not bad, just nothing out of this world.
