simply the best in the midwest.

Nice balance of hops and malts, and especially malt. nice fish eyed sized bubbles.

My only regret on this one is that I can only get it in growlers. I have even considered smuggling in a six pack of empty bottles and a funnel and to keep a capper in the car just so i can keep the flavor for a few weeks.

Very good IPA beer. Had it for the first time on Saturday. Could taste the Citra and Cascade hops (Citrus and floral flavor) and Chinook hops (Piney flavor). The color consisted of a copper color, with an off white foam head that lasts until the end. Very refreshing and enjoyable beer. Beer is very popular at Titletown, and has been marketed as a sausage flavor as well. One of the most complex (four hop varieties), yet refreshing beers I have had. Will have this beer again in the future.

Appearance: Deep, almost coppered gold with a huge creamy dollup that mellows to pretty glass clinging lace. Served too cold.

Aroma: Hefty amounts of pine sap and juniper. On par with many solid west coast IPAs. If citrus is present, I don’t pick up on it. Backbone is toasted malt, and somewhat British.

Taste: Pleasant toast and biscuit base with loads of bitter pine sappy hops. Very fresh, green, and oily hop flavor.

Mouthfeel: 60 IBUS worth of bitterness are augmented heavily by an unexpectedly high amount of carbonation. The bite from the bubbles is intense in its own right but blends with the bitterness to really kick you in your palate. Medium bodied and spritzy. I’d like it to be a little bit creamy to increase drinkability.

Drinkability: Moderate to low. I really had a hard time putting this one down. For one thing, it is served up really, really cold so I had to wait for it to warm a bit. Then the intense carbonation started getting to me. I don’t think I would want to drink more than one in a sitting.

Clear amber with minimal head that quickly dissipated to a thin film. Some spotty lacing is left down the glass. Outstanding hop aroma coming from this beer. It is grassy, citrus, and a even a hint of tropical fruit. The flavor is also very good with a big dose of citrus and grass. Bitterness is moderate. Malt gives a little toasted flavor. Finishes dry and clean. Medium body and moderately carbonated. A really enjoyable IPA that excels where it really matters.

I get far less bitterness from this than some as it presents a nice touch of citrus. A little grapefruit, tangerines, orange, and honey. There is a bit of pine and resin but it's subtle and tasty. The malt is lightly sweet but substantial. It's an overall great beer.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub, thanks to Bison for the beer!

Bright golden orange, frothy foam on top that has a creamy surface texture, leaving behind some spotty lace around the edges. Clarity is sharp, some stray rising bubbles are visible. Surface skim parts after a few sips.

Dank resiny hop aroma, floral and dried citrus peel. Pretty classic yet unique.

Firmly bitter, green and hoppy with a resiny feel that sticks in the teeth a little. Lives up to its name (though football related). Light citrus and florals. Relatively light bodied and drinkable, this was the favorite of the bunch that I sampled at the brewpub.

On tap in Green Bay at a local sushi bar. Bartender said it was a fresh keg and it was very good. Great nose, taste and feel. Just an all around very good pale ale that I am extremely happy to be able to get fresh whenever I want. I have converted a few BMC drinkers with this beer.

Yet another top-notch IPA from a relatively new Wisconsin brewery. As a Packer fan, the name resonates with me (Green 19, set, hut! is burned into my memory). Genius on the part of whoever came up with that. Nostalgia aside, the hops are fantastically balanced, with a nice carbonation and feel that is on a level with some of the best nationally available brews. A very pleasant surprise.
