Based on BJCP guidelines for IPA

Appearance - very hazy with plenty of lacing and head 2/3
Aroma - resinous and piney hop character with grapefruit citrus notes 8/12
Flavor - More resinous and pine flavor hops with grapefruit. High bitterness that lasts through the finish. Dry finish. Lacking in malt character to balance out the high hops. 12/20
Mouthfeel - good carbonation, medium to medium high body with a dry finish. 5/5
Overall - I would prefer more malt character and less in your face bitterness. The resinous/piney/sour grapefruit character is big and bold, but borderline unpleasant. 6/10.

33/50.

First had: on tap at their brewery

Cloudy yellow-orange pour with a solid white head that receded to a thick ringlet and left streaks of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and sugar sweetness indicative of a solid malt base. Taste reflected this, a decent balance of biscuity sweet malts and citrusy/piney hops, but a bit on the stale side, leaving a bitter aftertaste. Wasn't bad, just not incredibly fresh or distinctively tasty. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation. Average beer.

Pours a cloudy golden with a white head. Good citrus peel aroma, some pine, floral, and earthy hop notes. Bread and biscuit malt sweetness, too. The flavor is somewhat malt forward. Lots of bread, biscuit, and light toast. A bit of bitterness, some citrus peel, light tropical notes, floral hops, and faint pine on the finish.

Enjoyed this beer on tap at 7venth Sun Brewery in Dunedin.

A: Pours a cloudy dark golden hue with a big, 2-finger, white head that slowly dissipates leaving a nice trail and ending in a persistent lace.

S: Solid hoppy aroma with hints of citrus (mostly orange).

T: Good mix of earthy hops and malts to give a bitter and slightly sweet flavor. Hints of fruits and pine in the background.

M: Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: Really good IPA – would order this again.
