The brewing process begins with a proprietary yeast strain. Unlike most pale ales, this yeast provides a mellow estery aroma that enhances the malty flavor aroused from 2-Row and Cargill Europils malts, as well as lending a subtle crispness. Beaver Blonde is characterized by its balanced hop bitterness and noticeable citrus hop nose which is crafted by generous "dry hopping" of lusty Simcoe & Amarillo hops. A touch of white wheat malt enhances the drinkability of this gorgeous brew for a refreshing blonde that goes down easy time after time. This is one Beaver you won't forget.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #70 (November 2012):

We appreciate brewers using high alpha hops … in balance though. Simcoe and Amarillo are two and can easily reach overkill especially in smaller brews. Not overly clean with a yeast character that could have been left behind. These factors place this pale ale easily in the middle of the pack.

STYLE: American Pale Ale
ABV: 4.5%
AVAILABILITY: Year-round

LOOK: Hazed pale golden hue, lovely looking head

SMELL: Overly ripened fruit, broth, tangerines, catty, vegtal, powdered aspirin, peppery, yeasty

TASTE: Crisp, lighter bodied, mildly astringent hopping, wet, grain, dried grass, cracker, meow, nutty yeast, citrus pith, spicy, apple skin, white peaches, very dry hoppy and grainy finish

This beer has a very clean aroma of citrusy hops, a bit like grapefruit, and a bit of pale malt. The taste is flowery and mildly bitter, somewhat like grapefruit without the sting and stickiness. The body is slightly sweet and tangy, but not heavy - this is certainly a sessionable beer. Goes down smoothly with a light creamy mouthfeel with a bit of tang. Very refreshing, quite flavorful for a relatively light beer. I love the hop flavor of this.

A-Pours a fairly transparent hay color. Head is mild and dies off quickly. Body glows and there is minimal lacing.

S-Pleasant mixture of sweet and lightly hoppy. As the label says, there is a nice little parcel of Citra hop aroma. Graininess is prevalent. Sweet honey. Potent enough.

T-Hey this isn't bad in the least. Bitterness is far more intense than expected. The bitterness lasts in the finish. Before the bitterness sets in, it tastes almost wheaty. Also there is light honey and grains. Hops are floral and grassy. Pretty nice.

M-Lighter bodied and bubbly. Easy to put down. Sessionable. Crisp and pleasantly bitter.

O/D-A nice surprise here. Plenty of assertive flavors to keep me interested in the next sip. Better than their IPA in my opinion. This one will ultimately make me try their third beer called Brewnette.

A: Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold with two fingers of white head that fades into a thin layer with good lacing.

S: Caramel and crystal malts up front followed by sweet oranges. The finish actually smells a little bitter and funky, like a saison.

T: Sweetness at first here as well with some malt flavors and sweet citrus. Faint herbal hop notes follow with a barnyard funk and bitter combo that is reminiscent of saisons again. The aftertaste has a somewhat strong bitterness.

M: Medium-light body with mid-high carbonation, this beer is fairly light and dry.

O: An interesting beer, overall, that reminds me of saisons. Perhaps the beer is infected, but if so, it works in its favor. It's a little too bitter, though.

Wow.

Popped the top on this blonde and I could immediately smell those NW hops.

Very appealing in its medium straw color, sharp nose and firm head.

Was hoping that it tastes as great as it smells….it does.

Mild graininess at first entry, but the hops quickly overcome your taste buds. Floral and assertive.

Crisp, sharp mouthfeel, quenching. Very pleasing and refreshing. Does not weigh you down.

Highly recommend this one. Lower ABV makes this highly sessionable too…I think I found this year’s summer brew!

The best of this brewery’s offerings, with the Red IPA a close second.

Wow.

Poured from a twelve oz bottle into a tasting glass. Enough to develop a rating and still share.

Pours clear golden colored, see through, with initial light foam. Eventually nothing, as it fully settles with no lacing.

Citrus malt smell. Lemony. Very nice.

Has a citrus pils taste with a kind of German pils hop close. Tangy. Crisp finish. Light and clean with a lingering hop taste.

Pretty good blonde. Ideal for the summer.
