Gold in color with excellent clarity. There's a fingernail of dishwater white around the rim and covering most of the top. I'm smelling a hint of corn and faint grassy hops, but not as intense on the hops aroma as you might find in a German pilsner. The taste is grassy hops, faint corn, and light malt. The mouth is very light and quaffable.

Poured into a tumbler glass.

Look: Clear golden body with slowly rising bubbles under a white head that recedes to a nice film. Random lines of lacing remain on the glass.

Aroma: Super sweet malt or grain bill, subtle grassiness.

Taste: Much like the aroma with a ton of sweet cereal grains, maybe rice adjunct? Sweet like an adjunct lager.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light, creamy, smooth.

Overall: I started liking this the more I drank it. Hinges on the sweet side and very easy to drink.

Pale yellow body; thin white head, wispy yet sticky; steady carbonation rising. Light cereal grain smell; grassy. Mild toasted grain flavors; nice, complementary bitterness. Medium mouthfeel; smooth initially then brings on some crisp bite; sweet body yet finishes mostly dry.

Overall, this is a decent beer nicely balancing the malt and flaked corn grain sweetness with a respectable hop bitterness and a pleasing mouthfeel. Nothing earth-shattering, just a fine, solid, easy-drinking beer...

i think they dropped the summer siesta part of the name of this one and are just calling it mexican lager now, the can tells me it has won medals before and undergone this name reduction. solid beer, nice with a spicy salsa flight and tasting good and fresh and summery, but its just sort of a mindless drinker for me, cold and wet and bubbly and without flaws, which often is all i need out of this style, but lately there have been a lot of good mexican lagers around, and i have been increasingly interested in and attracted to the mexican lager yeast. unfortunately, we dont taste much of it here. i miss it more now than i would have a year ago when i understood its full potential less than i do now. tons of bubbles helps keep this refreshing, and i can really taste the corn, in a good way, thats kind of my takeaway here, bubbly and corny, clean though, no real flaws or anything and a better beer than i have come to expect from these guys, although it has admittedly been quite awhile. tacos and salsas and enchiladas love this sort of thing, im sure ill drink it again in that context...

Look: straw with a thin white head

Smell: big grain sweetness with just a hint of malt and hops

Taste: follows the nose, malt is a bit more noticeable. A little too sweet.

Feel: smooth with just enough carbonation to keep the sweetness from being overwhelming

Overall: an improvement compared to most aal's but a very distinct corn sweetness is a bit much for me.
