For the average BeerAdvocate, this place has nothing to offer except OVERPRICED standard offering drinks. Nothing special here.

*Update: Went here the other night, and now they list a small selection of craft beers on tap or in bottle form - EXCEPT THEY DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE THE BEERS LISTED ON THE MENU. I asked a bartender for several beers on their "beer list" and she eventually replied "Listen, name three beers on the menu, and I'll tell you we don't have two of them." What a joke.

Have been here a few times as, Tavern on the Broad and have mixed reviews.
It is a nice sports bar, but still has it's probs. Hopefully it is just a case of a place trying and one day will succeed.
The place has promise.

1st time there, had a really cool chili. Never had anything like it.
Was chili in a bowl with real steak pieces, and it was cradled in a piece of roll to fit the bowl. Had a Belgian beer there too...but I forget which. They have a few.
___
Next time I went I asked for a Duvel, (for 10 bucks), but they were out. In fact...the next 4 beers I asked for, were out. I had to get adventurous and settlred on an unfamiliar, not so hot beer, called Magic Hat, (I believe). The bartender was so embarrassed, she gave me that beer for free.
They..ugh..also stopped making that chili.
BUT...I did have a fancy french fry dish called, Loaded Fries. They were excellent and served on a bamboo type placemat on a sharp looking, rectangular, pagoda roof type plate.

The next time there...I had the same prob with the beers. This time the bartender went to the owner/manager, to check if they were in stock. I overheard, him say to the bartender, in his Irish brogue..."Tell him we don't always carry seasonal beers"....hmmmm?
Like Duvel?
I wound up getting the best of the rest----a Chimay. Was given to me by the bartender. lol...without a glass! Then when I asked for 1 she smirkily, gave me a 12 oz beer glass, even tho there were chalices right in front of me. I just said F it, then I ordered those fries again.
They were as heavy as a brick and served on a boring, oval-ish plate and tasted horrible.

UPDATE
___
I just went there again on 12/23/11...and still, no real change.
No beer list. bartender said..."Look up on the shelves for the beers we have"...lol.
Was impossible to see them
The selection of good beer was down to..Duvel.
I should be thankful for at least that, I guess.
Bartender was more interested in a girl at the corner of the bar than his 10 or 11 customers.
I may have over estimated this joint with my original review...tho---I'll keep it as it is.
