Stopped by this place on a drive from San Diego to the southern LA-area beaches based on the reviews here and was extremely underwhelmed. The spot itself is a really, really, really poor man's whole foods. If you are looking for organic fruit and veggies, this may be worth a stop. But if you are looking for beer, it is not worth the time. There is one fridge filled with 6 packs and bombers. Some decent local IPAs from Stone, Modern Times, etc if that is what you are looking for but I left without buying a single bottle and wont ever return.

Just off the Interstate and easy to access, Hanson's Market is a natural/organic market which features a deli and a cold box of craft beers. No matter where you turn, you seem to run into another display of product, as walking space is squeezed. Even part of the cold box requires some acrobatics to reach.

Most beers are available in six-pack and large bottle formats. Much of the focus is on the American scene, with sprinkles of German and Belgian influence. Beers from Uinta, Flying Dog, Weihenstephaner, Hofbrau, Delirium Tremens, Duvel, Saint Archer, AleSmith, Ballast Point, Firestone Walker, Oskar Blues. In other words, you should be able to walk away with a beer you like, and the prices are fair as well.

Only two checkstands, however not many are needed for this small market. It was quick and friendly, which makes Hanson's a great alternative to the corner beer store.

Nothing but solid craft beers. Staff has tastings before the beers (and wines) hit the shelf. These guys (and girls) seem to like their IPA's, Ales and Belgians. Good representations from San Diego (Stone, West Coast, Coronado, Iron Fist etc), OC (Bruery, Left Coast/San Clemente). May have the best organic beer selection around; Eel River (everything), Uinta (HopNotch, WYLD) and unique things like Bison IPA and Lakefront. Yummy deli. Best deli sandwiches around. Try the Spicy Riviera with your favorite IPA.

Great selection of wines and craft beers. The staff is informative and friendly. Men and women shoppers can choose from an array of light to more hearty flavors. Easy access to freeway and generous parking. I have been told Hanson's Market will soon host monthly wine and beer tasting. I look forward to that. Also, their deli sandwiches are perfect with my beer choices. Some of my favorites are Bootlegger's wheat ale, Old Guardian wine style ale and Ommegang pale ale. I recently tried The Three Philosophers Belgian ale and now list it as one of my must-haves.
