Style: American Porter

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
With notes of coffee and dark chocolate, this Porter is roasty and rich, with a robust, yet smooth body. Toasted malts give it a sinister black color, but its crisp taste will have you believing that there’s no more need to be afraid of the dark.

Lager malt, munich malt, chocolate malt, bavarian hops, with the slight addition of authentic icelandic roasted coffee.

330 ml bottle, looks like the bottled on date is 12.07.16, and the best before date is 12 JUL 2018. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like toffee, nuts, chocoate, coffee, roasted malt and some dark fruit (plums). Taste is similar to the aroma, I think the toffee, chocolate and roasty flavors are the strongest, with some coffee, nutty and dark fruit flavors still noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it's a good enjoyable porter, definitely worth picking up! $2.59 a single bottle.

Look: It pours dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is moderate.

Smell: The initial aromas feature chocolate, hints of expresso, hints of coffee, and some roast.

Taste: It has coffee flavors with roast, chocolate, and dark fruits. The dark fruits are plums with a hint of cherry. There are also hint of toast in the background.

Feel: It has a moderate feel with a sweet finish that highlights the dark fruits.

Overall, it is a beer that features a malt balance with dark fruits blended it.

Coffee and roast on the nose. Modest head production and retention.

Slightly sweeter on the palate. Chocolate and dark fruit, coffee, some roast.

Effervescent and lively; smooth.

Decanted from bottle into tulip pint glass. Pours a very dark brown with a khaki head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nose: coffee grounds, peach, and pepper; palate: dark malts and dark, unsweetened chocolate. Dry for a porter -- medium bodied, with refreshingly light "mouthfeel." I have had this brew before; goes well with not overly spicy meat and cheese dishes.

From a 330ml bottle.
L: Very dark brown, black at the core. Huge, lumpy, mocha-coloured head. Several rings of lacing.
S: Understated, sweet, toasted coffee & cocoa.
T: Toffee, chocolate, coffee. Gentle, not powerful. Semi-sweet with a dry finish.
F: Super smooth. Light body with moderate carbonation. Solid bitterness provides a bite.
O: Easy-to-drink, silken, toasted porter. Moderately high carbonation is an unexpected pleasure.

On tap at Epcot

Pours a deep brown color with a creamy off-white head that has great retention after the pour. Smells of toasted malt, chocolate, light char & coffee. Tastes of toasted malt, chocolate, vanilla cream, earthy coffee, finishes slightly dry with more chocolate on the linger. Medium body and carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and finish. Solid porter
