Style: American Porter

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
With notes of coffee and dark chocolate, this Porter is roasty and rich, with a robust, yet smooth body. Toasted malts give it a sinister black color, but its crisp taste will have you believing that there’s no more need to be afraid of the dark.

Lager malt, munich malt, chocolate malt, bavarian hops, with the slight addition of authentic icelandic roasted coffee.

Cool it's made with Icelandic water but is very watery. Not too malty or chocolatey as I like porters to be. Okay beer but not worth its $15 a 6 pack price tag. Taste is very commercial.

On tap at a Norwegian kiosk - Epcot, Disney World
Pours a cola-like color with a tall creamy tan head that slowly fades to a thin foam. Dark malts, anise, chocolate, and dark bread crust for an aroma. Good porter flavors with more chocolate, toasty grain, coffee, anise, earthy hops, and a hint of soy sauce. Medium body, quite acidic, but does finish well balanced. I would have liked the coffee to come through a bit more, but overall, a tasty brew to try while at Epcot.

Look: Black, can't see any light through it. 2 fingers of tan head.

Smell: Chocolate and toasted malt and smoke.

Taste: Chocolate and toasted almonds and coffee.

Feel: Medium mouthfeel.

Overall: First had it on tap at Epcot and was blown away. The bottles are not as impressive but still a great Porter.

Aroma of roasted malt, bitter cocoa and coffee.Taste was identical but softened by being just a bit sweet. Feel was excellent, not thin or watery which some porters can suffer from. A really nice porter which I will definitely have again

Appearance - Pours thin black cola like with decent off white head that vanished before I can sit the glass down. There is not much lacing at all.

Aroma - Roasted malts, coffee, a touch of smoke, chocolate and a little sweetness.

Taste - Very nice flavors a little more smoke and some charcoal in the flavor. Rich chocolate Roasted malts and coffee grounds.

Feel - The feel is pretty creamy with some tingly carbonation. Slightly dry finish.

Overall - I was not expecting much from this but it has very nice flavors.

Look is a very near black cola and pours with a finger of light khaki head.

Aroma is chocolate, coffee and a bunch of malt.

Taste dark chocolate upfront, a nice malt presence mid and finishes with a nice touch of coffee.

Feel is smooth, creamy and almost full. Nice.

Overall a fine porter that is done very well in my opinion. I generally prefer heavy stouts but this porter is a nice compromise for having near stout like attributes but at a much lighter abv.
