Very Good
Icelandic White AleIcelandic White Ale
Notes: Our quest was to make the best white ale we ever tasted, with the complex flavors of a classic witbier, all brewed with pure Icelandic water for a cool smoothness that is deliciously refreshing.

Wheat malt, pilsner malt, oats, bavarian noble hops spiced with coriander and orange peel.

Bottle poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours faintly hazy golden straw with a frothy off white head that slowly settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.

S: Fruity, floral, light spice, orange and coriander, slight wheat twang, doughy malt, light caramel sweetness, and dare I say a hint of banana bread.

T: Floral, rosy, fruity esters, light spice, coriander and a clean hit of orange, subtle grassy herbal notes, slightly twangy wheat, doughy malt, a little sweetness, and a touch of yeast.

M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly creamy.

O: A purist might say it's a bit tame, but all the classic elements are there, plus it's super refreshing and easy drinking.

Very drinkable, but could hardly tell it was a wheat beer. (This review is for my personal notes only)

Look: Hazy yellowish golden pour with carbonation rising to the surface rapidly. About 1-2 fingers length of foam (my fingers are big so I say 1-2).
Smell: Fruity smell with a hint of orange.
Taste: A nice thick taste with an orangey, fruity, floral feel to it. So good - definitely wasn't expecting this.
Feel: The carbonation is still rising to the surface seems to be light bodied with a thick taste to it - light to medium body.
Overall: I'm going to buy another six pack to enjoy with my buddies this weekend. If this doesn't tell you then I'll make it simple. Highly recommend this lol

Definitely pegged to the sweet and malty end of the spectrum, this white beer was enjoyed on tap at Edison Brewery Co. in Gahanna, Ohio. Very sweet and satisfying, with a fresh baked bread aroma. The coriander and orange peel was muted compared to mainstream white beers, but that actually played into the higher taste rating for me. I would definitely try this on tap again if given the chance.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left thin patches of lace on the glass. It smelled of orange peel, coriander, cracked wheat and fruity notes. Sweet wheat, caramel and fruit with a zippy citrus kick.

White Ale
Einstok Brewery
Date: 03 Feb 2021
Not sure about this beer; the date is going on seven months. I use the Untapped app, and when I checked into this; beer, the first person who toasted me was Einstok. The first time that happened, it was awesome. I poured the beer into tulip glass; the temperature was 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy and airy two-fingered head. The somewhat slow dissipation left lacing on the glass. The beer charts around SRM 4, pale straw with light golden yellow.

The aromas are toasted crackers, lightly floral, a hint of white pepper, a touch of fruitiness, and orange. The aromas in the beer are subtle. It was hard to perceive anything from the nose other than the malts.

I taste toasted crackers, floral esters, fruity sweetness, a hint of oranges, and some white pepper. The beer is clean and crisp. The flavors in the beer are deeply entwined within the malts making it hard to perceive.

The mouthfeel is creamy and clean.

The body is light, light carbonation, and has a light finish.

An arduous beer to detect any flavors or smells. That being said, I will say it was clean and refreshing. One of the better white ale I have tried. The issue iI had was the flavor components; I wanted more orange and wheat flavors to come through.

12oz can from the brewery in Iceland. Thanks, Mo-berg!

This was a great wit. Very fruity and clean. The cleanliness is the best and most memorable part

I was hoping for better. It is basically a flavored Budweiser, and not flavored very well. It isn't disgusting, but it taste like lawn clippings got in my Bud. It is light without being watery and went down easy, especially in the summer heat. Easy chug, not great on flavor. Would drink again if someone else bought it.

11.2oz can best before dat: Feb 24, 2022 poured into a 16oz pint glass.
L: Pours a pale straw yellow with some yeast haze and has a pillowy 2 finger pure white head. Some broad lacing.
S: Flowers, sour.
T: Lightly acidic, light sweetness, orange rind, coriander. It has a long, light bitter finish and is a bit of a sour beer with no real recognizable malt profile.
F: It is a fairly smooth drinking ale that has a medium-light bodied mouthfeel and it has a medium length overall finish that is lightly dry.
O: The smell from this beer may not suit some but the flavors inside are nice and refreshing. It's different than American white IPAs in that it's a bit thin and lacks caramelized malt action.

330 ml bottle, from the taxfree store at Billund Airport, Denmark. ABV is 5.2%, 12.8% Plato. Practically clear and very pale yellow colour, moderate to low white head. Strong aroma of grassy and herbal German or Czech pilsener hops, no sign of this being a witbier. Dry and crisp flavour, now with citrussy notes (lemon/lime rather than orange peel), but still not much witbier character. Refreshing though - my rating is, as always, hedonistic - if I rated by style, the score would be lower.

Moderately hazy yellow appearance with creamy white head. Smell of bread dough, spices. Taste is tangy and has a slight orange flavor followed by doughy hops. The oat definitely adds a level of mouthfeel to this. The coriander shows up in the finish. Very clean. Not the best Witbier i've ever had, but passable.

Canned on 9/30/2020, enjoyed in a weizen glass 7/3/2021. Not exactly the freshest, but as it's literally the first time I stumbled across this beer in the wild, I took it.

L: Poured a lovely attenuated pale gold, which shaded more and more clear from the top of the glass to the bottom. Formed several fingers of beautiful fluffy white head off a fairly careful pour, with good retention. Spotty lacing.

S: Walking through a ripened wheat field dotted with coriander bushes next to a ripened orange grove.

T: Opens crisp and coriander-laden, with a heavy citrus presence that remains throughout the swallow. Some mild barnyard-esque funk enters midway through and lingers after, An interesting tinge of minerality underlies the entire tasting process, lingering in the aftertaste alongside everything else.

F: This beer somehow manages to combine crispness and fluffiness into a readily chuggable consistency.

O: This is a delight of a summer refresher beer, and of a witbier.

Color is basically cloudy orange. Nose is slightly lemony. Taste is also SLIGHTLY lemony, but not much. Taste and aftertaste are almost non existent. Sort of odd not having much flavor and such.

look: giant white frothy head with good retention, beer is a lightly hazy straw colour with vibrant carbonation rolling up the glass.

smell: sweet orange and coriander, vanilla, caramel, lemon zest, somewhat floral, grass, straw, wheat.

taste: not a particularly nice witbier here, very sweet, orange and vanilla, coriander too, almost has a milky taste to it, some caramel, the wheat flavours are subdued, some bready malt, strange floral and herbal character.

feel: light bodied, light to medium carbonation, clean, drinkable.

overall: my first icelandic beer is a disappointing one, which is a shame, added shame because this is a style of beer i’m quite fond of, oh well.

With the goal of excellence in brewing in mind, the brewers of Einstok set their sights on the ales of Southern Belgium and a smooth Witbier taste.

Icelandic White Ale pours with a slight milky yellow with a soft backlit glow. As the ale crowns with a white cottony froth, the scent of citrus, spice, cider, white wine and bread dough decorate the nose. A gentle sweetness graces the nose as its wheat and malt provide a sugar cookie character with fresh baking bread, honeysuckle and light vegemite.

But the magic happens on the middle palate when the fruit esters are highlighted with lemon, apple and white grape, each creating a familiar taste of cider, white wine and a hint of lemonade. Not to be outdone, a rebuttal of yeast spices deliver nuanced white pepper, clove, coriander and vanilla balances the taste with ease. A light and pleasant grassiness comes in late for a mild bitterness that seems of lemongrass, parsley and mint.

Medium light in body and trending spicy and dry, Icelandic White Ale finishes snappy, vinous and refreshing, lingering shortly after with peppery herbs and a glimpse of sourdough. Flirting with greatness, this fresh and friendly example of Belgian White Ale ranks among the St. Bernardus and Celis of the world.

Pours out a bright yellow with a slight haze to it. Has a nice 2 finger white head with excellent retention. Seeing tons of lacing.

Getting lemon and wheat in the nose. Very zesty and clean smelling.

Tons of wheat in the taste with a light fruit sweetness. Earthy.

Feels great. Smooth, crisp, decent carbonation.
