330 ml bottle into pine glass, bottled on 3/29/2016. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, white bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, white bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, white bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness as well. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, creamy/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a delicious witbier! All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Really, really impressed with this offering from Einstok. This is a really great Belgian-style witbier. Perfect. Here goes:

A: Slightly cloudy yellow, but relatively clear. Pours a massive head that leaves a ton of lacing. Body could be a little more effervescent, though. Good.

S: Very powerful. Lots of grass, hay, wheat, pepper (coriander and lighter spices), and lemon. The malt and yeast really complement each other well.

T: Also very fine. Follows the nose to a tee; very exquisite complexity for such a simple beer.

F: Good. Nice and crisp.

O: Very surprising. I believe that this beer deserves a higher rating, but that's just me.

330ml bottle into a tulip. Paid £1.99 for a single bottle.

Pours a translucent, golden-straw coloured body with plenty of lively visible carbonation. A light, one-finger in height, bubbly white head quickly reduces to a thin and patchy film, leaving small amounts of lace on the glass.

The nose is led predominantly by a combination of juicy citrus and orchard fruit-like yeast profiles. Apple and pear are easily distinguishable as well as less identifiable impressions of light skinned stone fruit. Notes of banana and sweet bready malt are evident underneath, while hints of clove, pepper and coriander become apparent towards the finish. Taste follows suit. Sweet, juicy orange and lemon flesh lead alongside peach, apple, pear and banana esters. Mid-palate, sweet grainy pale malts and bready wheat provide a light and crisp backdrop for the yeast profiles to shine. In the mouth a light body and plenty of lively carbonation give a thin but pleasantly smooth and crisp feel. Towards the finish, faint, mildly bitter floral and herbal hops join coriander, and plenty of clove and pepper spice to dry the palate without becoming astringent.

Overall this is a very good beer. It’s bright, clean, crisp and refreshing, managing to deliver plenty of fruity and phenolic yeast characters without overpowering the light malt base. Recommended.

Einstök Icelandic White Ale has a very thick, spongy, stark-white head, an initially clear, gold-yellow, bubbly appearance, with lots of bubble streams and some lacing splotches on the glass. There is a descending gray-yellow cloud, once the "swish & pour" is done, yet it really does not cloud up the beer. Aroma is of mildly spiced, sweet, white bread, and the flavor is the same, with no bitterness, and mellow orange and coriander notes. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and Einstök Icelandic White Ale finishes on the dry and drinkable side. RJT
