Appearance: Clean golden with a thick white head and webby lace. Attractive!

Aroma: Subtle maltiness, sweet alongside coriander spiciness coming around the edges. Nice.

Taste: Smooth and balanced, with a wonderful mix of spice, malts, and some fruitiness in the orange peel. The oats add an extraordinary smoothness here that mainstream witbiers could learn a lot from. Exquisite and top-shelf here. A damned great witbier!

Outlier detected. Justify rating with the review. Okay, here goes.

Consumed on draft at Smoke City BBQ, Sherman Oaks California, July 4th 2015.

Beer is a clear medium/light yellow. A small, creamy white head sticks around a long time.

So far, so good... uh-oh. Aromas of cotton candy and some other odd note I can't place. Not at all what a witbier should smell like.

Flavor is also way off from style. Overly sweet cotton candy mingled with diacetyl and some artificial-tasting lemon. More bitterness than anticipated. Almost a banana bread-like aftertaste. A real mess.

Mothfeel is medium bodied with adequate carbonation.

Overall, I wonder how old this keg is and how often this place cleans its lines since this beer is way off the mark

Light clear yellow color with large white cap.

Clean scent with light touches of coriander and orange.

Flavor is of a clean, light white ale with coriander more prominent in the taste than the scent while orange seems a bit more diminished, except in the aftertaste which accents the orange a little more than the spice. There may be a hop presence in the background, something floral, but not much.

Texture is more than medium with a creamy texture.

I suppose it's oats in the grain bill that account for the creamy texture. Whatever it is it's noticeable. Overall this brew doesn't do any more (or less) for me than say, Blue Moon, the difference being I can get Blue Moon fresher and at a lower cost.

Very promising pour...
a) That fills glass with 4 fingers of meringue head, and spackles glass with lasting lace and a film cap over a clear yellow body.
s) classic wit: coriander, wheat, pilsner, brightness, spice, orange, mineral water.
t) clean - it's the water - minerally - sets it above most - all the savory flavors in a favorable summer wit. Scrubbing citrus zest., with floral, peppery finish. Perfect.

M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Crisp. Nice finish. Clean.

O: Best or as good as any wit ale ever.

Served in a pint glass from the bottle.

Appearance: Super clear gold, light bubbles on the body. Has a very light head, coming off a white color and settles real quick..maybe rose to about 1/8" off the body.

Smell: light hops, and little lemon skin. Not much going for it.

Taste: honestly though it is a witbier it feels more like a euro pale lager. Has hoppy notes to it with a light dose of citrus.

Mouth: has a dry texture to it, somewhat sticky but there's room for improvement.

Overall: A lot of better witbiers out there but still not a disappointment. Best to compliment a light dinner. Drink with love, salud!
