Mini-growler picked up at Common Market South End. Solid dark reddish brown pour. Just a ring of white head.

Aroma, Malty caramel and toffee. Some light wood and raisin.

Taste, Light toasted malt, caramel and toffee again. Fainter ripe red fruits. A little bit of woody anise type bitterness.

About medium bodied, lower carbonation. It's a little thin, but drinks pretty easily. A pretty tasty take on the style. $9 for the glass and beer, not too bad value wise either.

Pours a tawny brown color with a thinner slight off white head that is gone pretty quickly.Aromas of buttery caramel, chocolate, and light dark fruit mainly, some alcohol stands out as it warms a little.Sweetish flavors with caramel and lingering raisin flavors in the finish,a bit of toast in the background and that alcohol zip rounds out the flavor profile. Not bad maybe a little on the sweet side but it's nice for a cold damp St. Paddy's day.

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, opaque, ruby-blood coloring, with a fluffy, clingy, off-white head. Nose of smoke peat, caramel, subtle scotch notes, and earthy highlights. Flavors are smooth and smoky, with a rich caramel, peat, and cream blend. Velvety smooth and thick, with a richly sweet and roasted aftertaste. The finish is slick and smooth. Very solid brew.

It pours dirty brown with a head that does produce some lacing. It has a unique aroma compare to most in this class and other classes similar. It has a sweet syrup like aroma with elements of roasted malts. The roasted malts are the most dominant flavor with a hint of sweetness. It is a bit watery and has a slight bitter finish.
