Light gold in color with a quarter inch of creamy off white head. Light lacing. The overripe pineapple leads the nose along with honey and tropical hops. I taste a blend of pineapple, tropical hops, and honey. This definitely meant to be drank in warm weather, but still delivering a modest amount of flavor. The body is moderately carbonated, slightly sticky, and the pineapple gives the mouth a cooling sensation.

Appearance: Cloudy golden, with a small head and no lace from the can.

Aroma: Fruity all the way here — pineapple, citrus-forward as promised and yum!

Taste: Really pineapple-heavy, so this one is quite delicious! Body is fairly light, but this is a hell of a refreshing Summer-style IPA packed with taste. I would love to have this one again, for sure. Winner!

Pours an effervescent & slightly hazed gold with 2+ fingers of ivory colored head. Great lacing & good head retention

S: Pineapple & tangerine

T: Follows the nose, a little bready sweetness & grapefruit up front. Pomelo mixes with pineapple, plus a little dryness as this warms. Finishes with citrus bitterness & a little breadyness

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation & a little graininess, pretty good balance

Drinks easy, was hoping a for a little more flavor across the board. Worth a try

Pours a slightly hazy orange yellow with a finger of off-white foam.

Noticeable pineapple and tropical fruit notes right off the bat, followed by citrusy orange and lemon notes.

Pineapple, orange, and lemon fruit lends a subtle acidity to overall flavor, but sweetness sweeps over the palate on the swallow adding balance.

Medium-body, medium carbonation, sweet, slight tart acidity, fruity.

Overall, this beer is an easy drinking tropical summer brew. Somewhat sweeter than I prefer however.

A thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bright yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of lemons, apricots, a bit of funkiness. Taste is pineapple, lemons, some apricot, mild bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

Look: This beer is off to a fabulous start immediately after the pour. It pours a yellow-orange sunburst, with light around the edges of the snifter giving this beer a golden glow. Head formation is modest at 1 centimeter with a pour at a 45 degrees angle. Head retention is modest, with sporadic and thin lacing.

Aroma: The fragrance of this beer is amazing, with a triage of pineapple, orange, and lemon zest powering up the aroma. Hop and malt notes are subtle, and come in the form of dank and herbal and biscuit malts in the same order.

Taste: A sip of Dakine immediately drops the drinker's taste buds into a vat of pineapple, citrus, orange, and lemon zesty notes. Dank and herbal hops and biscuit malts help support the lightweight, tropical flavor profile. A zing of honey helps keep the zesty citrus flavor lively and balanced.

Feel: It's thin and a tad watery, but with an otherwise smooth and crisp texture. It's easy to drink at any rate of speed. While a little extra thickness would be desirable, the current feel and texture make this beer apt for drinking on a sweltering day, or at a rate of consumption rivaled only be college students on a Thursday night.

Overall: Dakine is a shear pleasure to drink. It's lightweight, flavorful, with a solid aroma. Well rounded and executed across the board. Get it fresh, as the lightweight notes and characteristics may not last long.

Served in a 12oz snifter.
