Poured out a jet-black color with a small, light brown head. It smelled of bourbon, oak and dark chocolate. Flavor is oaky, subtle vanilla, chocolate and roasty caramel. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Another really great stout from 4 Hands.

Pours black with less then a finger of khaki head. Head retention is strong, with a good ring of head staying throughout the first few sips. Lacing is so-so. Aroma is BIG. It's a complex mashup of boozy bourbon flesh, oak, caramel, and toffee. It has that boozy burn to it, while remaining sweet and malty. Flavor profile is boisterous. Caramel and toffee peep through with a subtle tinge of barley wine and its hearty biscuit and toasted malts. Boozy, bourbon flesh is very apparent. Despite all of the complexity, it drinks well. Especially as it warms. Mouth feel is big and smooth, with a slight grain to it. Filling, but less so then some similar beers that feel like a meal replacement. Overall, it's a very fun beer that has plenty going on. Malts, malts, and booze is the story told by Volume 4. It's a fun experience.

Served in a 12oz snifter. Draft.

L: pours dark brown but black in ththe glass. A film of head that fades fast
S: big barrel, bourbon and oak. A nice richness with chocolate influence. Great aroma
T: ooh, very nice! Big sweetness, with chocolate, bourbon, oak. There is the barleywine influence with caramel sweetness. This is a great beer!
F: thick, smooth, slight carbonation. Coats the mouth well too.
O: hurray 4 hands!

Pours jet black. Has good bourbon smell. Great combination of Rapture and Revelation. Only downside is it is a tiny bit thin. Otherwise is another outstanding beer from 4 Hands!
