Notes: Madagascar Port Double Barrel is a new take on our Madagascar Imperial Milk Stout. After resting in bourbon barrels, this Madagascar was transferred into freshly-dumped Portuguese Ruby Port barrels and aged with Madagascar vanilla beans. Strong notes of vanilla dominate the aroma, backed up with a complex blend of port wine, oak, bourbon and chocolate.

Had a 4 OZ pour in a flight of other barrel-aged 4 Hands beers.

Similar to the Madagascar Uganda, when it was cold it was amazing. The vanilla was there right alongside the port wine flavors, which made it very interesting.

As it warmed, though, it was a bit more cloying than sweet.

With the ratings being as they are (4.36) I was expecting more out of it.
