The Centennial Red for 4 Hands is solid. It poured a clear rich amber with white head that left a spotty lace. The scent was slightly bitter. The taste was evenly balanced with sweet biscuit and bitter citrus hop. The Mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall I liked it.

A thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Despite zero agitation. this beer came gushing out, resulting in an amber color with a 1 1/2 inch head and a small mess on my carpet. Smell is balanced hops and malts. Taste is hops up front, malts kicking in at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

It's odd with 4 Hands BC - we get distribution here in PA, but it is scattered to the point that I CAN find some in PHL, some in LNC & still others were returnees with me from CHI. I dig the graphics on the CANs & I am anxious to CANduct a horizontal tasting/review of their CANned beers. When it is over, if you know of a CAN of theirs that I missed, let me know.

From the CAN: "Food Pairings [:] Sharp Cheddar - Grilled Beef"; "Red Ale Brewed with Centennial Hops".

Upon Crack!ing the CAN open, I began to get some slow foaming up through the vent. I let it go for a little while, but when it seemed unabating, I did a small Glug to allow it room to settle. Even a gentle Glug brought forth a finger of foamy, tawny head with good retention. The sticky lacing that was left in its wake was amazing to look at. Color was Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was a resinous, sticky mélange of honey, pine tar, grapefruit, breadiness and a fresh-picked earthiness. My mouth began to water uncontrollably. Mouthfeel was medium to full, probably due to the immense amount of carbonation. Taste was slightly spicy in terms of its bitterness, but also kind of minty, underlain by a light citrusiness. It really mirrored the nose in that there was a lot of flavor jammed into it. Finish was dry, spicy, lightly minty. Not only could I drink this on a regular basis, but now my curiosity is really piqued as to drinking it with sharp Cheddar cheese. What a beer!

This brew is a burnished copper color with a large-bubbled white head. MtheMthe aroma is a Mia of earthy hops and a little grain. Some subtle fruit underneath. Hoppy and moderate bitterness. Medium in body. Solid yet typical Amber ale.
