This is one monster of a Brown Ale! We use an obnoxious amount of chocolate malt and roasted barley to give this beer a cask iron backbone. Our oatmeal brown pours a dark mahogany with aromas of dark chocolate and coffee.

Cast Iron Oatmeal Brown pours a dark brown color, with a small, long-lasting white head. The aroma has notes of dark chocolate. The flavor is very creamy, with dark chocolate notes, and a hint of coffee. Good feel. Overall, a creamy brown ale, with amazing flavors; how did they do it?

From City Brew Tours, canned?

It pours a clear reddish brown with a finger of foam, some lacing, pretty good retention.

The smell is very much of chocolate, oats, caramel malt, and perhaps some coffee?

The taste is big chocolate and oats, caramel malt, has some bitterness that reminds me of coffee.

Smooth mouthfeel.

Quite good.

Very dark mahogany with ruby highlights and a nice tan head that dissipates to just a ring but does produce some decent lacing.
The aroma is roasted chocolate malt with some hints of coffee.
The taste is also chocolate - bittersweet - with more coffee overtone, nice balance, not too sweet with some nice nutty notes, finishes slightly dry with a lingering chocolate note.
The body is medium, smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether, a very nice, hearty brown ale. This would be a good accompaniment to a hearty stew or barbecued ribs.

Good brown ale. I have had better but this is a good one. Brown ales are my favorite, if done right. This one is.
