On draught at Pour Taproom in Durham, NC. Pint pour. It's hazy and a pretty amber in color with a creamy, milk white head and a thick coating of like-colored lacing. The nose features sweet malt, grapefruit, lemon, onion, and floral hops. It has a unique taste of sweet malt, burnt caramel, grapefruit, and decidedly bitter Ekuanot and Simcoe hops. For a malty IPA, it packs a hefty 70 IBUs. The mouth feel is rich and creamy with moderate carbonation, and the 8.2% ABV gives it a nice pop. Overall, Respect is a southern-style, malty DIPA with a terrific balance of sweet malt and hop bitterness. It was great paired with a sausage po boy.

Poured from a tallboy can into my trusty Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly clear golden copper pour with thick foamy white head. Great retention and super lacing. This is a gorgeous beer.
S: Toasty malts, North Carolina evergreens, and citrusy hops.
T/F: Sweet caramel malts and toasted grains... followed by a moderately bitter West Coast hop profile. Evergreen and citrus lead the way... earthy and fruity. Well balanced... ABV dangerously hidden. Medium bodied and sticky/oily on the tongue.
O: A very well done homage to the west coast IPA. Delicious beer.. looks great, tastes great, and leaves me wanting another.

Pours into an imperial nonic a burnt orange-like color with a thinner slight off white head atop.Big orange notes in the nose with some resin underneath, sweet caramel malts stand up to the hops.Starts out with some candied orange on the palate then a hefty resinous quality comes into play all the while a sweeter caramel/biscuit malt base holds true thru the finish. An interesting flavor profile not overly sweet or overly juicy,a good beer for a great cause.

A: Pours a clear medium to dark golden copper in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + burnt orange + brassy colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy light beige head that slowly reduces to small patch of thin film surrounded by a large patch of thick film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of tropical/mango, tropical/papaya, citrus/grapefruit, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops over the top of just shy of moderate aromas of slightly toasted + caramel malts with a just shy of moderate amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of slightly toasted + caramel malts with a just shy of moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of tropical/mango, tropical/papaya, citrus/grapefruit, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops which imparts a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness and a hint of alcohol warming in the finish.
O: Fairly easy to drink with relatively well hidden alcohol. An enjoyable rather old-school hop profile with citrus and tropical notes and a decent amount of fairly aggressive bitterness.
