The colour is yellow with a tint of gold (6 EBC), the liquid is clear. The finger thick head is white, it sinks quickly into a thin uneven lid.
The smell is semi-sweet with lots och smooth pilsner malt. Hints of grass, clover flowers, hay and fresh wheat bread. Light clean bitterness. Very balanced, elegant and complex.
The taste is extremely smooth with lots of fresh bread, hay and floral notes. Hints of butter and minerals. Clean bitterness in the background. Medium body. The aftertaste is smooth with a touch of orange peel, but it is mainly about the malty flavours: Sourdough bread, some rye crisp bread and a gentle touch of salt. The finish got some bread and floral notes.
The carbonation is light, the many mid-sized bubbles short-lived. This gives an impression of a Franconian gravity dispended beer. The liquid is semi-smooth.
I really love this beer, it sort of brings me back to Franconia, but it as the same time fresher than many of those German beers.
