Looks and smells great- sour, funky, with some clean barnyard notes. In the mouth, though, the more nuanced notes are gone and it's mostly a sour bomb with just hints of that barnyard and saddle blanket. No real funk beyond that, but quite tart and a bit unbalanced. It is clean, however, with no band-aid notes. I'd say past it's prime but still quite drinkable in mid 2019, especially with some rich food that the acidity could cut through and would allow some of the residual flavors to be drawn out.

Bottled, with champagne style cork and cage. Poured into my gold rimmed Westvleteteren XII glass.
Pours an unsettleingly clear golden body with no head
some skunk notes on opening but the bottle gives vinegar and paint thinner
oily sherry, classic geuze that shouldn't delight the palate but somehow does.

A: Pours up a hazy, slightly darker, straw gold with a quickly receding, creamy, one finger head.
S: Immediate balsamic vinegar-esque sourness, some slight wheatiness, and some white vinegar as well.
T: One of the more sour bottles of Gueuze I have had in a while, very much like a sweet tart right off with a bracing sourness. Quite juicy, a lot of peach, very funky. Some slightly syrupy sweetness as well.
M: Dry, but the body could be lighter.
O: This is a good bottle of Gueuze, but it's not a special bottle of Gueuze, it is very sour, if that's your bag it might be worth looking into, it's okay, it's not great.

375 ml bottle purchased for $17 at Lures Bar & Grille. This is a sour, funky, oaky, complex oude gueuze. Pours a clear golden yellow with some chunky white floaties from the sediment.
