Slightly hazy orange reddish color with off-white head. Aroma is sweet and syrupy with fruit soda notes. Taste follows with sweet artificial notes like hard candy and soda. Medium body and carbonation. Not one of the good fruit beers, even from the sweet ones.

330ml bottle - I like how the first that I ever hear of this brewery is Cantillon taking the piss out of it, and suddenly it shows up locally here. Eerie.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium reddish amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, foamy, and somewhat chunky pale pink head (sigh), which leaves some random descending alien spaceship lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of sweet and sour fresh strawberries, bready and doughy caramel malt, some unwelcome Belgian yeastiness, and a suggestion of plain earthy and weedy noble hoppiness. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, a still heady candied strawberry essence, further indistinct dark fruity notes, some extant Low Countries yeastiness, suggestions of white and/or black peppercorn spice, and further understated leafy, musty, and dead grassy hop bitters.

The carbonation is fairly involved in its palate lifting and separating frothiness, the body an adequate middleweight, and more or less smooth, with a wee airy creaminess sidling along from the get-go. It finishes off-dry, the musty strawberry and friends fruitiness carrying us out.

Overall, this is much less sweet than I was expecting, but surely comes across more like yer typical Lindemans, as opposed to the other more acerbic Lambic producers of Belgian renown. Pleasant enough to drink, I suppose, but hardly worth it, what with the measly 4 points of the ol' wowee sauce - for 8 bucks, I'd much rather just go for a soda, eh?

Pink and then off pink head, aroma was strawberry solidly done. Was expecting sugary plastic, got what came off as the real deal.

And then the sugars hit, disappointing, back to Timmerman's usual shit. Not any perceptible sourness. Just sugar, not much base, wheat. Certainly a below average lambic.

Timmerman's Strawberry Lambic. 4% ABV.

A: About a finger of slightly pink head. Opaque, dark rose pink color. Hazy pink-white in the dimple. Very light lacing. Light sheeting.

S: Light, yet solid strawberry aroma.

T/MF: Moderate, refreshing tartness. Slight strawberry seed bitterness which quickly fades into a strawberry jam flavor.

Poured from an 11.2 oz. bottle, into a Belgian tulip glass.
