Fiddlehead Brewing Company - Mad River Glen Lager

Look - Pours an almost white it is so pale yellow with a small foamy head. Zero lacing, literally zero lacing, interesting..

Smell - Aroma has blueberry on top of light smoky malt.

Taste - This matches the aroma, the smokiness is in front, the blueberry in the back, quite nice.

Mouthfeel - Light, crisp, dry, drinkable, and not at all boozy.

Overall - Light, a little low key but otherwise a great take on style, I would have no problem drinking this on the regular.

On tap at Fiddlehead.

Pale yellow pour, mostly clear, with a thin bubbly head that receded to a tiny ringlet; little to no lacing. It's a lager. Muted aroma, pils malts and light noble hops. Taste was thin and crackery, with a zest hop zing to it, bringing in a light wave of bitterness to balance out the malts. Mouthfeel was thin but crisp, easily better than your typical macro lager, body was light. Drinkability was good if basic lagers are your thing...not so much for me.

A-golden lager, mild head, bubbles, not too special
S-smells like a regular lager, but has no funky off flavors
T-very smooth, clean, crisp lager taste
M-smooth, refreshing, malt
O-if the bar is having a special on it, or you're in the mood for a lager and find this on tap, give it a try

Picked up at Pearl St. Beverage in Burlington.

Pours a bright yellow with a very thin head into my glass. Brewed with Carafoam and Bohemian Pilsner malt (according to website) with 25IBUs.

Light, sweet and crisp to the nose. I realize that there isn't any fruit used but it does have an accent of lemongrass.

Doughy, sweet with a touch of hallertau hops. I believe that this is well-balanced too with the hops adding a bite towards the back.

Meshes well with the spicy pizza I'm eating. Finishes clean.

An enjoyable example of a helles that is definitely worth checking out. This beer would go down well after a hot day.
