Received as an extra in a trade. Bottle # 459, bottled 03/2015.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a lightly cloudy almost see through golden hue with a thin half finger white head that fades to leave thin wisps and a light halo.
S - Aromas of light bananas, faint booze, caramel, esters, light malts, vanilla, light bourbon.
T - Taste is similar to the nose. Bit more warming booze, decent bourbon and vanilla, lots of caramel, nice belgian esters and banana notes. Malts are not too sweet, nor is the beer, however the finish is actually a bit hot.
M - Mouthfeel is lowly carbonated, which results in a bit of a sticky mouthfeel and much noticeable alcohol.
O - Overall this was a solid belgian pale. Nice bourbon notes, however, it is still quite hot. That, combined with the the lack of decent carbonation, kept this beer from really being noteworthy.

Bottle # 819. Bottled on 3/2015.
Pours a hazy dark gold with a foamy beige head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, toffee, white chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel, toffee, white chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a solid bourbon barrel aged presence that pretty much hides any aspects of the base beer.

Like butterscotch, yo!
Good, but like a dessert brew can't drink too much of this in one sitting.
