2019 version from a bottle. I'm glad some of this came to SD! This beer reminds me of Parabola; not very sweet, just a really good imperial stout that's boozy with a just-right mouthfeel. I'm going to age my 2nd (2018) for another year to see how it develops.

Got to get a try of this at Eureka Woodland Hills.

Pours a deep sienna brown pour, with an ivory head of frothy lace that settles quickly and doesn’t leave too much residual lace.

The nose gives off a lot of dark fruit.. subtle oak and roasty coffee balance out the profile. But a very nice, predominantly sweet nose on this stout.

The flavors are similar to the nose, introducing that sweet dark fruit first. More roasty coffee and malt however, and it lingers nicely. Well balanced.

Good medium body. Creamy mouthfeel, slightly sticky. Really well done stout.

500ml bottle, red label with white wax, 2017 vintage, poured into a 14oz snifter glass. Enjoyed on 7.21.17, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a deep jet black color, thick and oily with a bubbly khaki head that has very good retention and a few spots of soapy lace. The aroma is good, tons of oaky barrel character, charred wood, roasted grain, soft bourbon, nice chocolate, toffee, a bit of marshmallow, and some lightly acidic stone fruits. The flavors are very good, loads of bittersweet dark chocolate, charred oak, roasted grain with a touch of coffee, light plum and fig, light brown sugar, soft bourbon with vanilla and toffee. The mouthfeel is good, coating full body with a creamy texture and soft carbonation with a dry and very hot finish.

Verdict: A good barrel aged stout from Smog City. Perhaps a bit boozy and dry, but a great expression of the barrel character and a well rounded beer. The aroma is particularly enjoyable, really complex and well developed, I think the booziness just mutes the flavors a bit.

Thanks to ficklenicholas for this 500ML bottle of 2017 extraction. Excellent white homemade wax job but that industrial strength black tape almost killed me. Split with the wife.

The pour is black & looks way too small – damn 500ML bottles. This is ‘Merica, dammit! The nose is chocolate soaked bourbon. If Betty Crocker made that, I’d be on it.

Infinite Wishes grows on me like the fungal infection I had back in ’91. The first swig is all char & roast & disappointment; but then it warms up & so do I. Aggressive bourbon with a sharp, hard edge emerges first, cut only a bit by soft chocolate, bitter roast, char, cinnamon. Harsh. A nice change from all the ice-smooth BA beers, & one I’d be happy to sip 750ML (or 22 oz.) of. Prepositions at the end of sentences rock.

Love the blast of bourbon, which only grows more pleasing & sharp as the beer warmed. Could have done with a few more ounces. Excellent beer.
