Been here many times for lunch or happy hour. It's usually pretty busy, almost always sit at the bar. Bartenders are generally knowledgeable about the beer and food. Beer selection is pretty good, although some tend to be a bit pricey. The food is the star here, well prepared modern pub fare, that up until recently, was priced very economically (menu item prices have shot up several dollars over the last year or so).

Overall, a great place to go and highly recommended.

Ulysses has great service and a phenomenal beer selection. If you are in or around the Wilmington, DE area I highly recommend this gastropub. Very random location in North Wilmington but once you are inside it has a nice atmosphere, they are always switching up their tap selections and amazing bar staff each time I have been there.

Decent bar area-3 sided square granite bar and some high bistro tables around the outside wall. Dining area in the back but I did not wander back there.

Service was right on me when I sat down. Greeted me with both beer and food menu. Both bartenders kept an eye on everyone to make sure they had what they needed.

Great selection. Everything from local Twin Lakes pale ale right up to DFH 120 Minute. I had 2 Allagash tripels and a Bigfoot to wash it down. Servings ranged from 8 to 16 ounces depending on the beers and their abv's. I want to say 22 taps and another 40 odd bottles available. Some bottles were marked up over 100% from retail however and I did think that was a bit much in the long run.

Food was just outstanding. I had a shrimp and grits appetizer that was great-the grits had been formed into a triangle and quickly fried so it resembled a wedge of Texas toast, then the shrimp on top of them. Menu was quite eclectic-would like to sample my way thru it.

Outside of the over priced bottles I found the whole menu to be reasonable for the quality of the food and beers. A great spot-I plan to be back more then once!

I live in the area, and there has never been an amazing beer bar like Ulysses in the neighborhood. I came here with some friends on my birthday for lunch on Jan 2nd.

First impression was how friendly the staff was. The waiter heard that it was my birthday and he said he would buy me my first beer. That was awesome. I wouldn't expect such treatment if you do come here, I think its just because I am a golden god...

The beer is good, and I know it will only get better. I will only focus on the food...

I love oyster stew. And I noticed the oyster stew was a little expensive, however we learned that it was a huge portion and could be shared between 4 people. So we ordered the gargantuan bowl on oyster stew, and shared the ever so flavorful concoction. I highly recommend it, and glad that we ordered it. My wife got the catfish rueben, which she found to be enjoyable, and I got the mile high burger, which should be a food challenge in itself. It was awesome, but I'll never get it again because everything on the menu offers something you should try at least once.

I plan on visiting again in the near future.

The menu offers a great selection, our lunches were well executed, the hostess and servers were attentive, despite it being crowded, and oh yeah- great beer selection!!

I had the beef shortrib chili- just the right amount of heat,- a rich, satisfying lunch on a cold winter's day. My lunch companion had the Steak Salad- he enjoyed it- he hardly talked until it was gone. Looking forward to going again soon...

Lots of beers on draft- always changing. Great bottle selections. Decent wine list too, and I hear they are always adding more.
