On tap at the brewery.

Clear, pale copper. Heavy, heavy lacing.
It smells delightfully fruity; passionfruit.
But wow. It tastes really aggressively herbal-bitter. That's an IPA. Sweetish aftertaste is unexpected, but not wholly unwelcome.
Thick and full-bodied. Malty and substantial.
A really, really nice IPA. I'm shocked by the quality of the style in Birmingham, AL. Massive hops, er, I mean props.

On-tap at the brewery.

A: Clear copper body, thin off-white head. Weak retention and lacing. Meh.

S: Sweet caramel/toffee malt, a hint of butterscotch, and some piney hops. Enjoyable, but not what I'm looking for in an IPA.

T: Follows the nose - sweet, sticky, and ultimately resinous and bitter. All good flavors, but out of proportion for the style.

M: Light-to-medium body with carbonation that's prickly at first, creamy at the end. Pretty intense, and helpful in countering the sweetness.

O: Far too many specialty malts for my taste in an IPA, and nowhere near enough late-addition hops to give the aroma some life. I could see this being an approachable, gateway hoppy beer for customers new to the style, so perhaps it makes sense for this particular brewery, but it just wasn't my kind of IPA.

Cheers!

Best of the bunch for these guys beers. Low bitterness and pretty smooth for an Ipa frankly but decent hop bite. The oddest think though was that this beer straight up smelled like the dank. I put my nose in and took and sip and started looking around. Smelled again and yep.... it's the beer. Weirdest damn thing.

32 ounce growler poured into Westbrook Brewing tulip glass

A - clear deep amber pour with a one finger foamy head world class retention and world class lacing. Constant stream of bubbles rising from bottom of glass

S - if this beer has a weakness, it is the nose. Just not much there. Hints of pine and floral, not much else.

T - very hop forward. Piney hop bitterness. Malt is sort of roasted. Very pleasing taste.

M - medium thickness with a small aftertaste

O - excellent offering. Looking forward to trying more beer from this Birmingham, Alabama based brewery.

a - poured a two-fingers thick off-white head into a shaker pint glass that left good lacing and sheeting throughout. the body was a bright golden-amber color.
s - floral hops dominate.
t - very balanced IPA between the hops and malt.
m - medium.
o - very drinkable and balanced IPA though you will get your hop fix.

Drinking locally at WOB in Birmingham in October 2016 while on business trip.

One of the most interesting IPAs I've ever had.... Such a balance of hops and malt. Has a real earthy, grainy taste. Not bitter. Packs a very surprising 7.5% ABV given it seems light and almost lager like.

Will drink again.
