Where craft beers go to die. Case after case of shelf turds. There was even 3 year old IPA's from many breweries. There is fresh beer here for sale but be aware that the majority of the inventory is out dated and weathered. Where craft beers go to die!

Its in the same lot as the Publix. Its a dreary place with old beer and a stale smell, craft beer is here Bells,DFH, Cigar City Stone, but let the buyer beware, look B4 you buy, prices are on the high end, service is not around, may be better off going to the Publix steps away and getting a sixer of Sweetwater or DFH. ABC is only about a mile or so away.

One of THE best places in the area to by Craft Beer and good liquor. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, eager to "talk shop" and help you find what you want. They are my go-to now.

They have an ever-changing lineup of beers, so it's always an interesting trip. Just leave the Victory V-12 for me, mkay?

As the 1st guy stated, Bobs liquor is one of the best places in the lake county area to buy craft beer. I found this pose as well by word of mouth. One of my friends explained to me they have walls of beer so I was thinking just lots of macro beers. The first thing I saw as I walked in was a big space of craft 6 packs that were not cold. All kinds of stuff that is not at a normal store. Bombers of cigar city, southern tier, etc then lots of offerings in 6 packs on the wall (very good list from the other reviewer). I was pretty stoked when I asked about hopslam ad they had 1 case of it and it was the same price as the other stores in Orlando area. Their prices are pretty reasonable, the selection is great, the atmosphere I scored lower due to the other people that go to buy liquor(place is in a rough part of town and attracts some sketchy people)...the quality was lower only because I saw some beer that had been outdated by quite a while but if u pay attention to bottle dates you should be fine. Definitely a place I would recommend stopping by if in the area.

So over the last couple years I have gone to bobs probably once a month to huy beer. Always spending at least 100.00 whether it be on beer or bourbon. They used to get linked releases and let people buy them. Now, they basically hold their limited releases ransom...12.00/bottle of kbs. Want some terrapin limited release bombers? Just buy 2 six packs of maggies peach farmhouse. Want Bcbs? You can get 2 bottles of regular if you buy one of the sisters (priced at 19.99-25.99). I used to recommend beer for them to order to get people in the store...only to find out they would get it in and not even tell me about it! Now, apparently they have some "beer club" that nobody knows about. If you spend 500.00 per month, you are at a certain tier. 300 is another tier. The beers he showed me were beers you can find on shelves at some stores (big luscious, ba narwhal). The manager(Chris) has become arrogant and condescending towards me as of late and we have had somewhat a fallout. Mainly because i spend a lot of $$$ there, and besides shelf beer and bourbon, you pay astronomical prices for everything else. Want some pappy Van winkle? Okay put in your price for an auction and if you are high bidder, you can have a bottle.

Bobs used to be a place I came to to pick up beer for the weekend and shoot the shit with the manager. Now, it just is not an enjoyable place to go because the loyal members do not get rewarded for buying there throughout the course of the year.

If you can get over this, then they do have some decent beer in there. But I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

Update 12/23/13:

I can no longer recommend this place. Inventory has went to pot. The only thing of value was a 4-pack of Chimay Red, and exactly ONE 750---of Chimay Red. No kidding, that was the only 750 in the store. There was some Delirium Noel, some St. Bernardus Christmas ale, some German selections. No Cigar City anymore.

The adage, "build it and they will come", might work in some scenarios but not here. This place never did do anything on the advertising front. Their stock is ALWAYS in a state of disarray, and everyone who works here has ZERO knowledge of product.

They still have tons of liquor and wine, so if that's what you are after, go for it.

Bummer.

I got wind of this place via a friend (more later). As I heard it, the owner got sick of having crappy beer in the store, and he decided to ramp up his beer inventory.

The depth of selections is hit-and-miss, but breadth IT HAS. Some of what I found:

Chimay (all 3)
St. Bernardus Abt 12
Leffe
Kasteel
Affligem
Delirium Tremens
Duvel
Rodenbach (no Grand Cru though)
Duchesse
Cigar City (multiple styles)
Southern Tier (Crème Brulee, Mokah, Iniquity, Back Burner)
Rogue (multiple)
Hoppy Frog (multiple)
St. Somewhere
Stone (multiple)
Brooklyn (1 & 2)
Lagunitas (a couple)
DFH (a couple)
Lindemans (the usual band: Peche, Framboise, etc.)
Left Hand (six styles)
Bitburger
Great Divide
Samuel Smiths (4 varieties)
Carlsberg Elephant
Bells Two Hearted
Old Speckled Hen
Weyerbacher
Railbender
Thomas Creek
Holy Mackerel
Shiner Bock
Blue Moon
Labatts
Leinenkugel
SN (Pale Ale, Glissade, Tumbler)
Rheingold
Blue Point
Narragansett
St. Martin
Oskar Blues (Tin Fidy, Dales)
Spatan

Not bad huh? This list is not exhaustive either. There are a few more Belgians, German lagers, and quite a number more of B/C grade IPA's, lagers, and ales.

You will have to scan the stock horizontally and vertically to find what you want as there is no organization. I recommend logging your finds as you scan else you will lose your place when trying to find it again!

Word of mouth was the only way I found this place. The owner, a nice, helpful, and humorous fellow said he put his store on BA, but I didn't find it (so I did it for him). Also says he's on twitter (I don't tweet so that was useless). The place is on facebook, but it has almost ZERO visitors and updates. The store has no website either. This gives me the impression that Bob's isn't too interested in selling their beer; OTOH, why would you load up on so much inventory?

It would be shame to have all that beer sitting there with nobody to enjoy it. Those living close to Leesburg should go HERE NOW because good beer stores are pretty sparse in these parts (usually 45-60 minute drives between then), and what little there is cannot possibly come close to the inventory at Bob's.

Two other positives about Bob's: Warm and cold beer can be had, and you can do Mix and Match six packs.
