Wow. This selection would be impressive anywhere in the world. Without a doubt. I just picked up a Bo and Luke, Westy 6, 8, and 12, BA BORIS, standard Cantillons including Iris, grand cru bruocsella... The gent that helped me out was very kind and clearly knowledgeable. I asked about recommendations for new things happening in Spain, and he hooked me up. This is a must-stop.

Best assorted beer shop in Madrid -both international & local craft beers. Friendly attention & good suggestions from the crew. Homebrewing supplies are also available. Prices are well adjusted. A mandatory visit in Madrid. Located at the heart of Malasaña barrio –former Barrio Maravillas close to Subway station. They also own Yria-Guinea Pigs brewery – main sponsor & organizer of Feria de Noblejas annual event.

Not too long ago, I would have thought it impossible to have a store like this in Madrid, proud home of Mahou and other bland lagers. But here it is now, in the midst of a very exciting craft-beer revolution in Madrid and all of Spain, a beer joint where you can buy everything from classic Belgian brews to American micros and much more.

The space is tiny- smaller than a studio apartment in Manhattan. There is a cash register and shelves after shelves filled with beer: Westbrook, Hoppin' Frog, Southern Tier, Brewdog, Epic Brewing, Green Flash, Alaskan Brewing (2008 Smoked Porter), Alesmith (Speedway), Lost Abbey, Ballast Point (San Diego Scotch Ale)... serious stuff! Also Spanish craft names like Guinea Pigs (the store is owned by the folks who brew Guinea) and Naparbier.

The shelves upfront by the register is devoted to more classic styles like German and Belgian. Five customers will fill up the store and make it hard to maneuver, so this is certainly not a spot to hang out and peruse. Get your stuff and go.

Service was fine at checkout but no help was offered. On my next visit, a different guy was super chatty and happy to recommend beers, even gave me a free small beer jam . Prices aren't bad, on par with the other craft-beer store I know in Madrid (El Cervecero in Las Rozas). I paid 8 euros for Brewdog Tokio and 10.95 euros for Southern Tier Javah.

Definitely, absolutely a must in Madrid.

Small spot at the heart of Madrid, which adds a quality stock of craft brews, some home-brewing supplies, and several tasting and advocacy seminars.

Located in the neighborhood of Malasaña, this is a small place with a nice selection, where Belgian brews seem to dominate alongside other European selections, both classics and upcoming brewers. Nice selection of US imports given the location, with some rarities, including some Lost Abbey of all breweries with some tempting overpriced bottles here and there. Some Spanish upcoming craft breweries were represented but maybe given the rotating deliveries it seemed rather short at the time.

Staff seemed to be knowledgeable and dedicated. The place was rather busy given the local festivities, and while careful and attentive it seemed to be a tad too colloquial and pushy with some customers. There were some things mentioned I would not say to a customer, let alone have others hear them, but it seemed to work for the place...

All things considered this is a very welcome presence in the local landscape, and well worth keeping on the radar.
