San Francisco’s famous Anchor Steam® Beer is unique, for our brewing process has evolved over many decades and is like no other in the world. To give this classic beer a radically traditional twist, we created Anchor Dry-Hopped Steam Beer™. Made with its own special recipe, this brew is dry-hopped with a blend of new and traditional hops. The result weds the rich maltiness of Anchor Steam with the alluring fragrant hoppiness of our ales.

A: Pours a copper color with 2 fingers of head that slowly fades down to a decent cap
S: Lots of citrus and floral hop notes as well as some caramel maltiness and bready notes
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a mix of the caramel and toffee malt notes as well as the citrus, floral, and earthy hop notes. A bit of spicy breadiness in there as well. Finishes with Lingering light bitterness and more influence from the dry-hopping
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O: A nice treatment to the classic. The dry-hopping definitely adds a huge hop dimension that the original lacks. Definitely try this one out if you're into the original or anything Anchor

I got this at the Binny's store in Plainfield, IL as part of a build-your-own six pack for $9.99, making this single 12oz bottle $1.67.
The beer poured a deep golden color with a 3-finger white head that lasted about a minute before settling down to a thin white rim. It left some very nice lacing on the glass.
Heavy orange/pineapple and citrus hop aroma.
Huge bitter orange peel flavor along with some other citrus fruits that made this a very juicy beer. Dry hopping with cascade hops gives it some more bitterness, but it is balanced quite nicely with a touch of caramel maltiness.
A medium bodied beer with lots of carbonation makes this a refreshing and thirst quenching beer.
Another delicious offering from Anchor Steam.

Pours a burnt orange with quickly dissipating two finger head. Earthy, fresh baked bread, Mild hop aroma. Feels refreshing and quenching. Overall this is a delicious take on their original steam beer. The dry hopping almost gives it an ale taste, I believe this is still a lager? Great beer from an icon of craft beer.

I really like this beer but its a little bland. Its almost as good as their Liberty Ale but not quite. Its a solod beer though. I've always liked the shape of these bottles. Their Christmas beer is awesome too.

One of the beers on offer at our 4th of July party (bottles). Pours a bit deeper in color than you'd expect from a Cal common/steam beer, with a big fluffy head that leaves some lace. Nose is actually missing the dry hopped quality I was expecting...after all the have "DRY-HOPPED" printed boldly across the label. Nose is more on the traditional malty side you'd expect from a regular Anchor although slightly more citrus. Taste does bring more hop fruit flavor than the regular beer, and makes this a bigger and more rounded flavor profile in my opinion. Overall, a bit more depth than the regular version, but lacking the nose you might be hoping for. Still a solid beer.

From Boxbeers. In Teku glass. Playing Tales Across Time. Great toffee nose. Mouth nice too but with a strange citrusy sourness that isnt unpleasant but off. Very different from regular anchor steam

Hazy orange color with off-white head. Aroma is quite malty with orange jam notes. Taste has also nice orange notes, a bit spicy, solid malt backbone, light earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body, medium to low carbonation, quite smooth feel. Overall it's a really well made and tasty ale.

12 oz. bottle
Pours slightly hazy amber orange with a dense creamy off-white foam head. Smells like grapes, dark berry, red grapefruit, orange citrus, mango, passionfruit, guava, toasted crackery bready caramel malts, toffee, brown sugar, some spice, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like toasted crackery caramel malts, toffee, brown sugar, spice, some grapes, berry, grapefruit, orange citrus, mango, passionfruit, guava, gooseberry, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy and smooth with moderate low carbonation. Overall a really nice dry-hopped steam beer.
