Anchor Brotherhood Steam Beer has a profoundly thick, foamy, cream-colored head, heavy lacing left behind on the glass, and a fairly clear, bubbly, amber appearance. Aroma is of caramel, some citrus, and bread crust. Taste is of those elements, along with a quite bitter hop finish. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Anchor Brotherhood Steam Beer finishes on the dry side and moderately drinkable.

I never had a steam beer before but this is a really good beer with more hops than I usually like but this beer has a good balance of malt flavor, hop citrus, with a hint of well rounded caramel notes. Overall this beer is going into my rotation.

355ml can poured into a pint glass.
Hazy deep amber color with thick creamy off-white head, it slowly dissipates to a long-lasting silky effervescence atop and leaving some lacing patch and spot on the glass-side.
Plenty of malt in a nose, I get caramel, toasted bread, sugar, grain, toffee, and dough. Hop participates inside the malty layer with notes of mild fruity, citrus, peach, hint of grape and berries, earthy, and mild herbal.
The taste is still dominated by the malty goodness of caramel, toasted bread, sugar, grain, toffee, and dough while hop is much bolder comparing to the aroma with its fruity, citrus, peach, berries, grape, earthy, and some bitterness.
Medium body with smooth mouthfeel and moderate carbonation through the palate, the feeling is just right and proper to carry along well with a dry finish.
This one is good. Lots of malt as it should be plus with the reinforcement from hop adding up some depth into it.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a soft amber color with a nice fluffy white foamy head that held for a good half minute and then dissipated gently into the beer. The aroma starts malty sweet bready/toffee flowing into fruity esters. Sweet all of the way through. The flavor leans bready sweet the whole time. Quick bready sweet aftertaste running into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable smooth crisp sweet feel rolling along my tongue. Feels super smooth all around. Overall, pretty good California Common that I would have again.

Pours a coppery oranish color with off-white colored head. Citrus, caramel, cereal grains, and a light grass on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with plenty of malt, cereal grain, and some hay.
