12 oz can, w/o freshness info that I could find.
Hazed medium amber, moderate frothy cap, stays well, before going to a typical looking film, collar and mini webs of lacing.
Malty nose with a late dusty hop note.
Malt and more malt, crackers, bready, honey, late dusty bag of hops dryness coming forward....easy drinking, good beer for craft beer newbies...b/c its not overly hoppy, its smooth, malty and quite tasty

Beer is a copper color with a light head. The beer is super clear and is easy drinking with a nice hop touch that keeps the finish clean and tasty.
Very drinkable as a session or just about anything else.

on tap at falling rock today. this beer isnt a whole lot different from the regular anchor steam, maybe a slightly more bitter, fruity hopped thing, but its barely distinguishable from the original, maybe just slightly worse in my opinion. a shame too, because i am a huge fan of the robinson brotherhood, and was expecting something a little more inventive here. at the end of the day though, steam beer from anchor is not a beer that needs tweaking. i mean, maybe id like to try it in a cask, even dry hopped differently, but to take it and do anything to it seems unnecessary. this is a flagship beer in craft, still unique to the taste, and in many ways perfect. i like the idea of canning something like this though, and testing the waters, i just think they could have done a lot more with it or nothing at all. worth trying if you like the original, but there really isnt much to see here, keep it moving...

12 oz can. Pours clear bright amber with thick white head, lasts awhile, a little lacing. Aroma is sweet bread with some subtle dark fruitiness. Taste is nicely balanced. Toasty sweet malt is met with earthy, grassy hops. Dry finish with a thin mouthfeel but very smooth. Overall this one surprised me, good beer for the style.

finally got to taste this beer at a Chris Robinson Brotherhood show this past weekend in Denver. The beer is not distributed in Colorado at this moment, but they do bring in a few kegs for the shows. had 2 drafts and found it quite enjoyable with an unmistakable Anchor taste as the backbone. Also got a poster with the label art by Alan Forbes http://www.secretserpents.com/ from the nice bartender Heather at Cervantes. Cheers!
