A - Pours a nice golden copper colour, two fingers of head with solid retention and nice sticky lacing.

S - Nice floral hop notes, sweet citrus notes, hints of grapefruit and cotton candy on the finish.

T - Nice floral citrus hops, cotton candy, lemon iced tea, sour citrus bitterness lingers. A touch of ABV sweetness comes through on the finish alongside sweet caramel and butter toffee.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and a touch of dryness on the finish.

O - A solid brew, loads of flavour, nicely balanced with a delicious hop sweetness and a dangerously hidden ABV.

Serving: On tap

Caramel, opaqueish with a finger of beige head that evaporates to a scummy film. (3.25)

Strong sweet malt aroma, honey and molasses, some bright berry sweetness and woodsy hops. (3.25)

Malty with some raspberries and a lightly piney hop backbone. (3.25)

Medium body, light carbonation, astringent finish. (3.25)

Better than an old IPA, but not what I would expect when ordering one (even if it was marked as an English IPA). Being as it is not and it is listed here as an American IPA, I would have to say that it wasn't very good. Not much hops character and a really prevalent strange (but not bad) berry-caramel fruitiness to it. Clumsily straddles a line between an English IPA and a Barleywine but there is no strong direction either way, which is what would make all the difference in my opinion.
Would not have again. Teach me to have an open mind about random IPAs in brewpubs... (2.75)
