500 mL bottle with a t-cork. Batch 008.

Appearance - Pours a viscous deep brown body. No head. Kinda murky looking.

Smell - Deep molasses. Chocolate. Booze. Some dark fruits.

Taste - Much fruitier up front. Astringent and sweet. Chocolate comes through more in the back end, but it's mostly a molasses malt flavor.

Mouthfeel - Flat. Boozy. Heavy.

Overall - It's a good beer, but it's kind of a novelty. Notably drinkable for it's size, but as many of these beers go, it isn't remarkable enough to warrant drinking such a huge beer.

Pours a deep brown with literally no head.

Smells boozy as hell. Prunes, raisins, other dark fruits that are different than those things.

Dark fruits here too. Very smooth for this high of alcohol content.

Medium/medium-thick mouthfeel. Low carbonation.

Hate to say it but I don't feel OMG warrants it's current rating. It's biggest attribute is how well it hides the booze. Fans of one trick high ABV beers cometh, all others look away. Thanks egrace84.

Thanks for opening this with me, azdback!

A truly incredible, rich, sticky, decadent creation. This reminds me of a nice port wine in a lot of ways, though without the fruity grape character. Huge amounts of molasses, raisin, plum, fig, and mild wood. The aroma and flavor have big notes of chocolate as well. Nice vanilla notes throughout. Alcohol is present, but it's complementary in a sipping dessert beer lik this one. I would love to have the opportunity to try this again. Fantastic stuff!

An extremely interesting beer. You can taste all the subtleties of fermentation and a great novelty. Would love this on a cold night next to a camp fire. Going to age 3-5 years and see how it goes!

Had the batch 009 from 2014 on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Also was able to get two bottles on Thursday March 6, but have not opened them. For a beer that is supposed to be 20-22% ABV, I was amazed that it lacked an alcohol taste or smell. The mouthfeel is very light--like a port wine. Has a slightly sweet taste, but by no means sickening. Served by Rapp himself at the Rapp tasting room, poured from a bottle. This beer is supposed to be served at room temperature, per direction on the bottle and by the brewer. I wonder how much this affects my thoughts on it--never really had a beer served at room temperature. Overall I think this beer is really something special. I've never had a beer this high in ABV that did not make me wince when I took a smell or taste. This tastes like it is in the 9-10% range maybe.

Batch 8, 150 bottles released. Pour from bottle on 4/27/2013 at release party. $30 per 500ml bottle, limit 2.

A: pitch black, zero head, no appearance of carbonation at all. Oily look

S: This is the one place I find this beer lacking a little, you get booze with some chocolate notes

T: This is awesome, close to SA Utopias, but not quite as sweet. Vanilla, caramel, dark fruits. The booze is nowhere to be found in the taste

M: Although in the appearance it looks thick, it was a little thinner than expected, but not a 'thin' beer by any stretch. coats the mouth, no carb, no bubbles, but thats to be expected with this beer.

O: a very fantastic and unique brew by Rapp. There is very noticeable differences in the OMG batches with some sweeter and others not so much (like this one). Once people try this beer there is no going back, I have yet to find anyone that did not like it. Fantastic!
