Pours a deep garnet brown with some wispy bubbles the disperse to a halo very quick. Smell is briny, meaty and robust dark fruits- a holiday pie sort of palate, with a jammy, plummy tang. Taste is a salty and tart draw, roasted grains, hints of leather, smoke, and some herbal, earthy notes. Feel is soft, probably a result of the time in the bottle, which carries the flavors well. Solid roasty sour!

Very nice dark sour from Sante Adairius Rustic Ales. Hints of salt and brett come through to really give a lot of flavor. Definitely worth seeking out for fans of Tart of Darkness.

The complexity of this beer is deep.

The nose is somewhat straightforward. You can't really smell what's in it. It smells like a dark saison

It looks like a dark saison. medium carbination

Taste...this is where the wow comes in. The bottle says dark saison and it has those characters but it's more a brown sour, which is fine. Other dark saisons come off as porters with a hay/barnyard character. This one has very muted hay but with a nice brett funk. The front end is cherry, raisin, fig newton going into a brett saison character immediately following a salt finish. No character stands out.

The mouthfeel is great. Not too sour. Not to sweet. Not too salty.

I was blown away by this beer. I'm glad I was able to grab bottles to go of it!

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Deep brown body. Medium white head. Chunky collar.

Smell - Acidic. Deep cherry aroma. Some vinegar. Brown malts.

Taste - Cherry right up front. Caramel malts. Lightly roasted. Tartness builds into the back end. Woody in the back with some vinous notes.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Medium carbonation. Moderate sourness.

Overall - Pretty good sour brown, but not much more than that.

Again, thanks to Jason for sharing.

A very unique beer. Hard to explain the flavors, a sort of dark saison with some funk and the finish of a gose. The tart, minimally salty finish keeps pulling you back for more. Very well executed.
