I come here shocked to see the reviews from presumably a previous batch of this beer??? shocked because I just got a bottle of this from the recent batch and popped it with a few friends and in a word - WOW! this beer changes the game on what one can do with fruit in a beer. it really is like saison bernice with a blueberry glazing. the bourbon barrel aging clicks so nicely with everything...really a masterpiece. happy that there is another bottle floating around in my tasting group....now to ensure I am there when it gets opened!

Sante!!!

So this is Lucybelle with blueberries from what I understand.

Lucybelle is already a great saison from SARA, and this is just as good, if not better. The blueberries here are great, giving an already good saison and nice jammy and slightly more acidic quality. It's not de Garde level of blueberries, but very much in line with other fruited SARA beers.

Overall this is another great SARA beer.

Pour is a dark hazed purple with a pink head that dissipates quickly. Nose is light, some fleshy meaty blueberries, a strong yeast blast and a little sweaty, a bit thin in the nose with some leather behind. Taste has a fair bit of juicy blueberry, flavor profile is a bit watered down, moderate acidity towards the back. Light body, very soft, moderate carb and semi dry finish.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy and murky body. Deep red purple body.

Smell - Yogurty. Some berry aroma. A bit of grainy malt.

Taste - Still really yogurty. More distinct blueberry. Grainy. A little sour. Kinda woody.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Medium low carbonation.

Overall - Pretty good, but doesn't blow me away.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a snifter.

A nice magenta/wine color with a thin white head. Not much retention, leaves some spotty lacing.

Earthy, rustic scent with a little oak. Vinous notes with some tart mixed berry.

Similar taste, with slightly tart vinous/berry notes and some funky earthiness. Tastes more like raspberries than blueberries. Fairly dry but balanced. Juicy and a little tannic and grassy on the finish.

Light bodied, lush, and smooth.

Overall a tasty sour saison with a pleasant subtle fruit character. Reminds me of Cantillon Blabaer, but I actually liked this better.
