batch early '17

Best way described as being really similar to Saison Bernice, however not quite on the same level. Very similar in characteristics, but would think this might just be a component of that blend.

Thanks, Sam!

A mostly clear light orange with a dense, off-white head with good retention and a little lacing, this looks great. The nose is an intoxicating blend of lactic sourness, funk, lemons, apricots, key lime, a touch of grain, peach pits, a touch of almond and some spiciness. Delicate clove, some phenols, white honey and vanilla are present. The palate opens sour with unripe lemons, semi-ripe apricots and peaches, mulled in a mildly mineral-y white wine with a touch of clove. A touch of grain and some honey are present, but this is quite potently lactic sourness. The classic SARA house culture - a blend of lactic and citric acids - is present. Mild funk on the finish, with a touch of earth to go with the clove and phenol notes. Drying and fruity on the finish, this beer is pretty excellent.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 1/2 inch white head over a hazy light yellow body with no lacing. Nose of honey and slight citrus. Taste of grapefruit, ruby red grapefruit, and other citrus. Somewhat lacking in the feel department and overall a tasty sour right here.

Poured out as a bubbly orange yellow color with a white head on top. The smell of the beer is pretty tart smelling, some fruit in there too, smells pretty refreshing actually. The taste of the beer has a good tartness to it with some subtle tropical fruit flavors in there. The feel of the beer is very drinkable. Overall it's a solid brew, really enjoyed it.
