750ml bottle, 2018 SARA Cellar release, poured into a 12oz stemmed wine glass.
The beer pours a lightly hazy orange color, honey and apricot hues with a fizzy white head that has good retention and yields nice swatches of soapy lace. The aroma is pleasant, nice funk, lots of red wine character, vinous and tannic, pale dough with a light floral character. The flavors are good, soft pale grain, rustic and crusty with a nice funk, very distinctively Sante Adairius, lightly floral and fruity with a nice assertive red wine character. Fleshy grape, tart, vinous and lightly tannic with a honey like finish. The mouthfeel is great, lively and bubbly that coats well and is very playful and energetic without being abrasive and finishes with a lightly tart bite.
Verdict: An excellent saison from Sante Adairius. The red wine character is very present without being too dominating and one note. An excellent expression of funk that brings out some nice earthiness yet remains bright and delicate.
