Very Good
Notes: Saison is our muse, and we tirelessly work to create it in our own image. Our approach is simple; the highest quality ingredients, cool primary fermentations, and the long, slow development of nuance, all shepherded by our singular house culture. Like Minds, a Barrel-Aged buckwheat saison, tracks this path while reflecting our love of elegant and approachable mixed-fermented beer. With a rustic nuttiness from the buckwheat and a subdued acidity wrapped in the proverbial horse blanket of brettanomyces, Like Minds celebrates our esteemed peers who also nudge the boundaries of farmhouse-inspired beers. We hope you appreciate this newest interpretation of our siren's call. Sante!

L: Generic golden blond color.
S: Grassy farm notes.
T: A noticable start of farm notes that leads into a stronger body of fizz/lemon. Very simple ending. Not as crisp, and sharp as family whistle.
F: Light and airy.
O: Very enjoyable saison with defined characteristics. A softer cousin of the whistle.

750ml bottle, 2018 club release, poured into a 2018 SARA club stemmed glass.

The beer pours a nice golden color, light copper and honey hues, cloudy complexion with a foamy white head, about two fingers tall with excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is wonderful, great wine barrel character, fruity and vinous with a nice soft oak, dry funk, citrus peel and soft grain. The flavors are superb, wonderful citrus and estery berry fruit, wine barrel, vinous acidity and soft oak, pale and doughy grain, house cultures, light peppercorn and aged hop. The mouthfeel is very good, coating, lively medium body, crisp with a tart and dry finish.

Verdict: An excellent wild saison, super complex with an excellent balance. Nuanced, refreshing and bright. Wonderful wine character and saison base that makes for one of the best Sante Adairius beers I’ve had to date.
