Bottle from sara portal. For the locs package special.
Look: slightly opaque golden, fluffy white head with lace.
Smell: flowers, bread, light tart, wood.
Taste: vanilla, honey, oak, floral, hibiscus, fruity, French bread.
Mouthfeel: slightly slick, dry.
Overall: definitely in its own category here as a ba blond ale. Also mixing in bugs from 2 great breweries makes it even more interesting.

I really love the balance on this between the tart bugs and the mellow sweetness of the honey. Lightly malted, some lemon and straw and other traditional farmhouse notes. Only a hint of Belgian esters.

a neat collaboration, done much the same way as the matrices was done with side project from what i understand, a fusion of both breweries wild yeasts, working together to ferment a mellow saison type, in this case a blonde beer. it was cool to be able to drink the two beers side by side. i am hardly familiar with funky beer from half acre at all, ive only really had their hoppy stuff before, so there are some new elements of this to my palate. its immediately more mellow and drinkable than the side project collaboration, as there is way less acidity here, just a really relaxed tartness to it, far less extreme, less nuanced too, but equally delicious. there is a cool lemon note to it, fresh and zesty, and maybe even just a little bitterness too. i also get some herbaceous freshness, a tea-like property, earthy brett on the sante side, and some light belgian esters of apricot, white wine, and yellow plum, although there is no fruit in this beer from what i gather. i like the brightness of the carbonation, the subtle complexity of the ferment, and the cleanness of the finish. highly drinkable, uniquely flavored, and i would say a great success. a cool combination of their yeasts, i bet this will develop well over time too...
