A fine establishment! Went there 2 weeks ago for the 1st time, and tonight was my 2nd visit. If you live in Santa Cruz County, we are very lucky to have this kind of brewery in our own backyard!!! The beers are fantastic. I've only tried 6 of them, but they have all been excellent. You should visit even if you are not a beer drinker (try the Anais for non-beer drinkers). The Anais and Brewer's Beard so far are my favorites. The 831 IPA is right up there with Pliny the Elder from Russian River. I can totally see Sante Adairius growing out of their current location very quickly. If Sante Adairius were a stock trading publicly, I would be loading up on call options.

I was on vacation and visited Monterey with family and decided to stop at Sante Adairus Rustic Ales on our way back north to Fremont. The interior is small but cool with art and different types of seating like a long table or barrel to sit and drink next to. the selection is very good with stout, wild ale, IPA and barrel aged beer represented and the quality is very high in the choices I was able to sample. I found the Service both to be efficient and friendly I recommend this place to anyone who likes full flavored and intense yet well crafted beer. I was able to purchase 3 750ml bottles for take out of Brett Saison which was a nice bonus.

There's not much else around – tucked in a corner next to the freeway – so the crowd it draws is dedicated to the product, and what a product. I was there on a Sunday evening, and I could sit at a proper table, a re-purposed barrel, or the bar.

The service was pretty good. I got a couple of half-servings, then sampled a few more before filling a growler. Talked to both employees staffing the counter. I really wanted bottles, though. Maybe they'll scale up and take more of my money someday.

I went to Aptos St. BBQ afterwards, and they had even more SARA on tap, so that's another option for you.

Recommended by Ryan when south at FW Barrel Works, Great stop. Broad choice beers on tap- saison; oak fermented grisette; vanilla coffee porter and a robust porter; a kolsch style ale; couple of IPAs; hoppy pale and a dry stout. All available in pints and halves. Add on 750ml bombers of a Farmhouse Noir and the Gristte available for sale/take home. Well it was easy to sit back and enjoy some serious tasting.
Place samallish, but seated about 5-6 at bar and various tables and comfortable chairs in two rooms. About 20 people when I was there @ 5ish on a Tuesday.
Jay behind bar was very open to discussing beers and even offered a quick walk in back/brewery area. Busy taking care of people and of course regulars...but still great with Q&A, etc. Crowd very energetic and friendly...one offered me a seat at bar by moving her group down a seat. Very cool. She later helped me nail down a place to eat afterwards (Gayles' Bakery). Again very cool. Helped make it a special visit. By the way...Gayle's was awesome as a gourmet deli as well as great bakery...and only a few minutes away.
Highly recommended if driving to/by Capitola

Glad to have visited and glad I beat the rush because this place got packed quickly.

I didn't have the best service experience, mostly because of the awkward behavior of the bartender when I asked to buy a few bottles. His attitude seemed to disapprove of me wanting bottles for some odd reason and I had to brush it off. Still felt it was bad form. Not sure if that's something all people deal with or if I was special. I am confident I did nothing more than politely request bottles.

Anyhow, I was able to get three half pours in lieu of samples and enjoyed the beers. They make excellent beers. Finding some bottles to go was a bonus of course.

Big time brewery in a small obscure NOCAL coastal town. I'm sure the locals don't want the secret to get out, but this brewery is just outstanding. This review won't help their cause. This brewery specializes in an assortment of sours, saisons, and makes the gambit of other beers. . Half and full pours are available from a tap list of about 10 beers. This brewery has a small tasting room - not sure how this works on a weekend. The vibe is cool. People are just cool. The bartender was just cool. Their were not many people there when my wife and I went. I raved to the bartender about their beer and she introduced me to the head bartender. No real outdoor space which is one of my pet peeves for a brew pub or tap room but the nice California weather made it nice to drink outside and out front of the business and again they were just cool about it.

Super chill place. Wish my navigation system wouldn't keep trying to take me thru a mobile home park with no through street. All beers here are well crafted but they're lacking stouts in terms of selection. We all know what their niche is so we won't hold that against them. There's no restaurant service (food) made here but they apparently have food avail frequently through outside restaurants etc. employees and patrons slime are really chillaxed here in this dog friendly environment. Highly recommend this place.
